PLEASE NOTE THAT ALTHOUGH THE GARDENS ARE OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK, THE HALL IS ONLY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON TUESDAYS, SUNDAYS AND BANK HOLIDAYS. Arley is a place of enormous character, charm and interest. Visitors are frequently struck by the warm and intimate atmosphere and the feeling that Arley is a much-cherished family home. The Gardens, which are amongst the finest in Britain, are outstanding for their vitality, variety and historical interest and are particularly celebrated for the magnificent double herbaceous border. The Hall is an impressive example of a Victorian country house built in the Elizabethan style.
We wanted to make the most of the beautiful weather but avoid the busy beaches. Arley Hall & Gardens was perfect for this! Lots of open spaces, beautiful plants, flowers & structures to explore. A feast for the eyes with all the colours of the flowers in full bloom. We took a picnic but treated ourselves with a cake from the cafe; which was fresh, flavourful and very yummy. Suitable for visitors of all ages and mobility. Easy to negotiate paths for prams/scooters/chairs. Plenty of benches to take a rest or to take in your surroundings. The hall wasn't open during our visit, but we are keen to return on a day that it is. Good value day out.

I visited with my fiance. I'm originally from northwich but don't live here any more, and in my childhood I went to this museum a lot back when it was called The Salt Museum. sadly the giant tongue with the bar code reader that tells you how much salt is in certain food is gone, but there is still a really good interactive room and many interactive parts of the display. northwich has a rich history and it was truly captivating. the lady on the desk was really welcoming and friendly, and talked us through everything with enthusiasm. the little video for introduction was entertaining and well made. all in all its a great little museum. worth visiting the lion salt works afterwards however we didn't have time during this visit - although I went to them before they were refurbished.

Cheshire falconry offer hands on bird of prey experiences , to take up the Gauntlet and fly Owls , Hawks and Eagles in the heart of the Cheshire Counryside
I bought an Owl Experience for my wife and I as a joint Christmas present, but due to Covid-19 it wasn’t until now (August) that we could actually get around to doing it. The wait was definitely well worth it..... From the moment we checked in with the helpful Vinnie and the wonderful afternoon spent with the owl handler Peter, it’s hard to describe what a great day we had. Peter was a great guide. His enthusiasm, care and knowledge for his birds was evident to see, add in his humorous and friendly manner it made for a perfect afternoon. My son tagged along as a spectator, but the ‘non-fliers’ were just as involved as the lucky ones doing the handling, so I’d definitely going along as a spectator. We took so many photos it was hard to choose a favourite, and the owls were so photogenic, they made great subjects. I’d definite recommend it and the Covid-19 safety measures were implemented well and didn’t effect our wonderful day. Can’t thank you enough, we’ve so many great memories of the day.

Traditional Family run Gardens, Tea Room & Large Plant Nursery. This is a must for the keen gardener and wildlife lover. The Gardens are set beyond the Nursery and once walking through the walled archway the magic begins. The gardens are set around a tranquil pool with island pathways and wooden bridges leading to various features. This Monet-style landscape has a wealth of moisture-loving plants, including iris and primulas. Drier areas feature unusual perennials and rarer trees and shrubs. Woodland paths meander through shade and bog plantings with views across the pool to the cottage gardens. Outdoor Theatres and Weddings are also held here throughout the season. Also ideal for Cyclists and dog walkers as very close to the Delamere Loop and Sandstone Trail. Ladies Afternoon Teas, Group Tours and Workshops are also held throughout the season. Open March to October. Out of Season bookings taken for special events and groups. See our Website for more details on upcoming events.
Due to Stonyford being closed due to COVID 19 . Stoneyford have set up a wonderful on line service . I ordered 3 robins on Wednesday. Paid on line with pay pal . Chose my day and time slot for 12.30 today Friday 12 th June . An excellent and efficient service. Our order was waiting for us on a table in the car park with our name on a board . Definitely recommend and use this service again at Stonyford. Many thanks Fred and Wendy Millership.
