Reviews on Seafood food in Carthage, Tunis Governorate, Tunisia. With a history stretching back nearly three millennia, Carthage was once the heart of a powerful Mediterranean empire before being leveled by the Romans in the Third Punic War in 146 BC. It sprang from the ashes to become an important early Christian center before again being destroyed by Islamic invaders in the late 7th century. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Carthage is a short train ride from Tunis and has several interesting attractions, like the Punic port and the Carthage Museum.

"Les ombrelles" is a very nice place to have business diner. Restaurant is located on the seashore. Tunisian style.During summer time, you can have diner on the terrasse directly over the sea - very nice with amazing night view over the sea.Service is very friendly and very efficient - Fish of the day is the best choice over there.Last time i was there with customers, live jazz music = very relaxing atmosphere

The adress is may be wrong because, the street name was Le Cairo and next street of the Carlton Hotel and opposite side of the Africa hotel. Very yummy Mediterrannean and Tunisian dishes with an reasonable prices (though not cheap but, well cooked & quality foods & quick service.)Actually, staff is speedy and easygoing as one can never see, easily in an francophone country. To one who wants to taste real food with their own cooking methods. I am highly recommending this place.

The Cliff offers fine dining in its dining room, terrasse or downstairs bar both overlooking the ocean towards the bay of La Marsa.I have been to this place a number of times; both for lunch and dinner and it has always delivered great food and service. The bar menu offers pizzas, salads and burgers. Pizzas are large and burgers too - both well prepared and served with care and style. Good flavours. Salads are normal in size - adequate satisfy a normal apetite. The fine dining is among the best in the Tunis area. My meat favorite is the cote de boeuf a l'os - a huge piece of meat. Very nice.As for fish dishes, the sardine carpaccio is an innovative dish with interesting flavours - sardines, onion with roasted green bellpeppers and a little lime/lemon touch. Amazing! The merou dish was rich in flavour and perfect in texture. Certainly to be recommended.Among other interesting dishes is the botargue pasta.

We went to check out the place as it was featured in a guide book.We quickly realized that people went there to get smashed drunk rather than enjoy finely made cuisine, although we had no complaints about the food. The atmosphere is very smoky, loud and definitely not the place to go with a lady friend. The drunks were nice but we happened to come on an evening when a drunk patron made a huge scandal when he was refused service and that hugely dampened our experience of the place since the guy kept yelling throughout the entire time we were there. That's the kind of place this is.

Yabon

Yabon is an institution in La Marsa, Tunisia. It serves only lunch and the place is usually packed. The meals are all based on grilled fish with different sides to chose from: tunisian red-sauce spaghetti, tastira or grilled pepper puree with egg, french fries, djerbian rice. The fish is seasoned with cumin and other fantastic spices. You may have to share your table, but it is all in great atmosphere and you're well attended. This place is mainly if not solely frequented by people who know about it and regular customers. It is great if you want a taste of simple and real Tunisian fish food for a fair price.

I was with friends with no reservation, the restaurant was full. However, the staff were very helpful and supportive. They offered us a table after 5 minutes. The service was very good and the food was tasty. We ordered many seafood dishes including their famous spaghetti with seafood and the lovely Tunisian wine. The fish is always fresh, and the prices are affordable. A very good experience. We enjoyed much. I encourage all to visit that nice restaurant.

The place was recommended by a friend. It’s a fine dining experience, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the location, the lighting was just right - romantic and calm - and the inside very nicely decorated. They have nice seafood dishes - especially the lobster with spaghetti is very yummy! However, they don’t speak much English although it’s a touristic place and the Menu it’s only in French. When asking for explanations of the dishes the waiter got very frustrated and couldn’t provide us any guidance and seemed very annoyed. Not nice Cocktails not so good, but the wine Yes. WiFi was provided, the younger staff was more accommodating than the older waiters who just seem to be easily annoyed by everything from customers. Customer service overall was ok, but can improve much more for such a fine restaurant. It’s recommended to book in advance as it was quite full even on a Tuesday evening.Parking was not provided. They have also a boutique inside the restaurant that is very nice, quite pricy though ...
