Excellent accessible facilites
Reviewed By Megan MStayed here over the long weekend - room was open and waiting for us on arrival.Super clean and lovely facilities - we had an accessible room on request and it met our needs perfectly - good shower chair in the bathroom as well. Walking distance to the Main Street and plenty of nice eateries.

Raglan Backpackers hostel and Surf Camp New Zealand is located on the water's edge of Raglan's beautiful harbour, looking out across the water to Mt Karioi. Purpose-built accommodation for your comfort and security, we take pride in our clean facilities, friendly atmosphere, surfing knowledge and helpful staff. All rooms open onto a private central courtyard garden, where you can relax in a hammock or enjoy the hot tub. The living room and dining area open onto the grass lawn which is absolute waterfront. We have surfing instructors waiting to teach you the best way to stand up and get surfing! We also rent Surfboards, Wetsuits, Mountain Bikes, Double and Single kayaks, Body Boards to rent and even a sauna and spa pool! We have also have free transport in our Electric Car to the surf beach for guests renting Surfboards!! (5 min drive).

Reviewed By stressbunnyWe stayed one night so we could enjoy the Raglan nightlife. This backpackers is perfectly positioned for easy level walk to the shops and cafes. I was impressed with the strict silence maintained on the property overnight which made for a perfect sleep. The double room had excellent blockout blinds

Guests are often surprised at the size, enjoy the homely feel and love being right in the heart of Raglan. Need more space? Choose our Cottage. Moved to Raglan by barge in 1874 it is one of Raglan's original homes. The cottage sleeps up to five, has a full kitchen and living area. It is Raglan's oldest bookable bach! Cafe's and restaurants are outside your front door. Within 20 minutes you could be paddling out to one of the world’s best left-hand surf breaks, climbing the majestic Mt Karioi, or visiting the nearby Bridal Veil Waterfall.

Reviewed By GrandvisitorLast time in Raglan we stayed in the cottage this time in the two storey studios. We did enjoy the studios more than the cottage. Very comfortable with nice views from upstairs. The bed also very comfortable with a roomy bedroom with couch to sit on. Downstairs the kitchen was adequate although we only used it for breakfast but the lounge part once again nice and roomy. The only negative was the Wifi network given on the instruction sheet was incorrect also the internet connection was poor each day we were there there was breaks in the connection. We would definitely stay here again given the comfort and the excellent proximity to town.

Historical Colonial Hotel right in the centre of town. Beautiful restaurant and veranda with 2 bars , one being a large sports bar . Walking distance to beach and all the amenities of our small town. Our rooms are simple and tasteful without ensuite, there is a ladies and gents bathroom just down the hallway and a TV lounge that provides tea and coffee and balcony that looks over the town.

Raglan West Accommodation was renovated in 2014. The motel features five private units. Each unit contains one double bed and one single bed, a self-contained kitchenette, a private bathroom, sunny deck with outdoor table and chairs and private car park. Situated in Raglan West and only a short walk from town and the beach.
Disappointed
Reviewed By Inamaru97Stayed 2 nights, wanted to leave the moment we walked in, however all other accommodation was booked out. The walls are so thin you can hear everything going on in the area, the fridge made noises all night like someone was trying to open the door, Positive note the room was clean, clean towels were provided, beds were comfortable but the movement of the mattress felt like your going to roll off the bed. We definitely won't be back

Cherry Picker Perverts
Reviewed By T7920CMclaireaValentine's Day couples getaway this was not. We stayed in the Grand Apartment. The hosts/owners were not only staying there but also were crawling around doing work on the building with a cherry picker - right outside all the windows and balconies. Whilst having an outside shower ? (naked) the female host called out from the balcony above "Hello...I'm not looking" whilst looking straight at me. My fella walked out of the shower naked and the male owner was riding up outside on the cherry picker. I understand work needs to be done but why not wait until there are no guests. Urgent maintenance was needed on a rooftop from a storm the first day which was understandable but not the rest. For $400 a night this was not acceptable. When I raised the issues with the owner straight after she was not understanding at all and defended their actions. So as a special Valentine's couple retreat the intrusion during our stay was just plain wrong. There is a 'naughty room' in this apartment and the owners should be sent to it!! Seriously...

Spacious and well appointed but beware the exorbitant credit card fee
Reviewed By kiwikids5Booked online and paid via credit card as no other option. Surprised to see an extra $40 (7%) deducted from my card. Contacted the owner who said it was a CC admin fee. No reference to it when booking. Owner didn't want to know. Really disappointing. The apartment itself was great, spacious, light however there were strict rules about what you could and couldn't do. That along with the unexpected extra cost put a dampener on our stay. We're unlikely to return.
