Good storytelling and performance. Learned a different side to my city and some of my old haunts I’ve frequented. I really wanted to go inside some of the haunted sites... Covid-19 measures will not permit it. I will be attending future events for sure so hopefully we can get the full evening experience by the time this pandemic is over.

The area has witnessed everything from dying Irish refugees during the Famine of 1847 to the Industrial Revolution to Montreal’s worst air disaster. Montreal has a lot of haunted drinking establishments to enjoy a few drinks while soaking in the paranormal, from fancy nightclubs, venerable burlesque halls and dive bars to ancient inns, brew-pubs, taverns, emporiums and other drinkeries! Montreal is clearly the best metropolis to mix booze with creepy ghost stories, an ideal place to pour back some libations while pondering the city’s brutal and sordid past and the ghosts that resulted from the worst of crimes and circumstances. While Dublin City, Ireland has around 15 haunted pubs and Savannah, Georgia, “America’s most haunted city”, has around 25 paranormal bars, Montreal has over 40 of these haunted drinking haunts. Led by a professional ghost storyteller, the Haunted Montreal Pub Crawl visits 3 haunted pubs. Guests will not only learn about many of the haunted drinking establishments in the city, but will also hear Montreal’s most infamous ghost stories.

Took this tour and had an awesome time! Our guide was Marie Riviere and she killed it! (no pun intended) Definitely will do another tour when I come back to Quebec City. Highly recommend to anyone interested in folklore, history and hidden spots among city streets, just to name a few. Marie was more than happy to answer any questions we had. Chaperoned some grade 9 students on a field trip to the old port and took part in the Chasse aux fantomes. Basically each group was given a map they had to follow, (maybe a little over an hour total?) Following their maps, the group would walk a couple blocks til they met a ghost who would reenact their stories and timely deaths. The actors did a phenomenal jobs. (enough for the masons who were supposed to be working to stop and listen to the ghost below them). 4 ghosts total, very different in personalities and showmanship were all very good. Our students werent great listeners, but the delivery of at least 2 of the performances were good enough to draw them back in. Pros: some good historical information delivered through gory death stories. Well done actors. Cons, of the 2 who were organizing the whole thing, the male was competant and pleasant. The young lady was not a people person and should maybe rethink switching places with one of the ghosts instead of being the first person people deal with. Not sure if this was supposed to cover some sightseeing as well, if so it wasnt the case. Fun group activity for a theatrical performance of some gory montreal history. (Definetly 12+)

Ally was our tour guide. Very friendly and enthusiastic and I appreciated how she spoke very clearly. Great activity for a family or just wanting to get out a bit with some fun ghost history of Ottawa.
