Poor Service at Front Desk/Valet Parking

Reviewed By rogerlambert2016

The hotel itself is fine. The room was OK. Our major issue was with the valet parking, and trying to depart the hotel. When we checked out we advised the front desk that we would like our car from valet parking. The person at the front desk assured us our car would be available soon. After 45 minutes of waiting for our car and watching the valet go back-and-forth numerous times ignoring us. We finally stopped the valet and asked him where our car was. The valet had no idea he was supposed to get our car. We then inquired at the front desk what happened, and the front desk manager shrugged his shoulders and said “sometimes mistakes are made, it is to be expected”. That was it, no apology, no nothing. The apathy from the front desk personnel was palpable. Unbelievable behavior from staff at a hotel that considers itself to be of such a high standard.

The location is very convenient surrounded by restaurants. Everything is walkable distance. The room is very small but nicely designed. Super friendly and helpful staff. Love their customer services a lot. I enjoyed my stay there. The only complaint is the pillow lol. It caused neck pain but I know it's a personal thing. Cammy is great!

Hidden gem

Reviewed By CanadianTraveler15

This is our second stay at Le Dauphin in central Montreal and this time we've left an awful chain hotel to stay here. Le Dauphin is what a modern, chic, reasonably priced hotel should look and feel like. The rooms are spacious, comfortably appointed, with modern bathrooms, everything is immaculately clean and little extras, like modern showers, heated bathroom tiles, etc. that make a difference. The staff is very helpful: Naomi was so pleasant, attentive and friendly when helping us book a wonderful room at the last minute when we've transferred from another hotel in Montreal. The location cannot be beat: walking distance to everything, the old Port, Chinatown, popular central streets, restaurants etc. The decor is simple, but makes for a comfortable stay and a modern rocking chair is such a cool touch. We had a very urban view with a bit of Chinatown entrance gate and it was super cool. Very good breakfast served daily, with plenty of food choices and excellent coffee. The overall environment is so pleasant: calm, quiet, modern, and well thought through. Love this little gem of a hotel, highly recommend.

Auberge Saint Antoine

More than a boutique hotel, Auberge Saint-Antoine is a window on Québec City’s past. Hundreds of artifacts from both the French and English regimes were discovered during an extensive archaeological dig on the property. In this unique contemporary space, the past has been audaciously re-interpreted for you to savour.

A Pleasant Experience

This is a great place to stay in Quebec City. Our room was quiet and clean and the staff was great. The hotel wants guests to stop at the front desk to request to have the room cleaned, which is unusual, but someone flying in from overseas wanting sleep during the day would love this feature. The restaurant is excellent.

Le Manoir d'Auteuil

Le Manoir d'Auteuil invites guests to enjoy the glamour and elegance of our French art deco boutique hotel. We offer visitors the charm of our historic building, the personal attention of our devoted multi-lingual staff and the special touches found in the smaller and intimate hotels in Quebec City. Our location inside the old city walls, across from the Parliament building and near the Quebec City Conference Center, is ideal for tourists, business visitors and travelers seeking romantic getaways in Quebec.

Excellent.

Reviewed By NCHS80

We stayed for four nights in Room 7. Customer service from ALL staff was superb. The staff was warm, friendly, helpful and professional at all times. Accommodations were also excellent - the room was spacious (at least ours was, we know there are smaller rooms), clean, and REALLY quiet (perhaps because of the age of the building - solid), although we were facing the road at the front of the hotel. Room 7 has a view of the parliament building and d'Auteuil Street, which was fairly busy with cars and pedestrians, but not crazy. It also has a bathroom which is basically the size of the bedroom area - very large. Breakfast was excellent - food terrific, and service quick, pleasant and helpful. This location is within an easy walk of Old Quebec, Governor's Walk, the Citadel, and Parliament. Linda, the owner, was very pleasant and has obviously assembled a great team. Minor gripes - bathroom (at least #7) needs some clothing (and towel) hooks and better reading lights at the bed. Those minor issues did not affect an otherwise perfect stay.
