ManoSPA

Dan's techniques are unlike anything I have ever experienced. He is so original and puts all of himself in his work. I have had other massages which are ok but seem like text book mechanical repetition of motions learned. Dan puts all of his soul and energy in every movement and no two massages are identical. He responds to what your body needs at that time. I view him as a brilliant artist who is performing a symphony, creating masterpieces with each movement, each breath; it is pure bliss and brings you to levels of relaxation and peace like I have never experienced. Dan has the energy of a healer, and it shows in everything he does. He is kind and generous and funny and simply in tune with his clients. I cannot recommend him enough!!!

Canadian Children's Museum

Located within the Canadian Museum of History (formerly the Canadian Museum of Civilization) Hands on adventure! The Canadian Children's Museum is one of the most popular attractions at the Canadian Museum of History, and has been since it opened its doors in 1989. Passports in hand, visitors discover one incredible destination after another. Whether on a visit to homes in the International Village, a trek to a desert pyramid, a jaunt to the Port of Entry to help unload a cargo ship, or a stroll through the bustling Market Bazaar, visitors encounter endless ways to learn about the world and one another. A world of discovery where parents have as much fun as their kids!

I love this museum! My kids adore it as well!! There are a dozen little "kingdoms" you can visit, each one gives you a stamp for your passport! Ha ha It can get busy, and staff supervision is limited to the crane on the boat. The wifi is weak and drops often! Pokeone stops are all over! Make sure your phone is fully charged before you go!

Canadian Museum of History

Experience Canada’s history in exciting new ways. The Canadian Museum of History is a destination of choice in the National Capital Region. An architectural jewel designed by Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal, the Museum is less than five minutes from downtown Ottawa and Parliament Hill. Explore Canada’s rich history and the outstanding achievements of First Peoples. Marvel at the world’s largest indoor collection of totem poles. The Canadian History Hall, our signature exhibition, will let you discover the events, personalities and historical currents that have shaped Canada — from time immemorial to the present day.

We were here twice during the last four days, returning today for the special Neanderthal exhibition that opened today. It is outstanding, but the special “Unceded” exhibition, focusing on indigenous North American architecture, is also excellent. The two floors of Canadian history are a great improvement on what was available for view when this was still the Museum of Civilization. The Grand Hall offers the best selection of Northwest Pacific art and artifacts this side of the B.C. Provincial Museum in Victoria, and the Museum of Anthropology on the UBC campus in Vancouver. It leads into the “First Peoples” exhibition, which is also well worth your while. A special treat is the complete collection of Canadian and British North American postage stamps. Highly recommended!

Fromagerie Montebello

Hubby and I try to get to Montebello once a year. It's a charming little town. We stay at Chateau Montebello but pop in to the village numerous days during our stay for dinner at one of the local establishments or to visit the Fromagerie Montebello. In the summer time Fromagerie Montebello offers a take out cheese plate that includes at least three types of their cheese, a mini baguette, some chutney, etc. It's a fantastic price and a great way to get to sample their wares. The staff have always been top notch and extremely friendly and helpful. Aside from their wonderful cheese that is made on the premises they also have a great selection of foodie items for sale hot pepper jellies, balsamic vinegars, pates, sausage, etc. You really have to check it out! We always make one last trip to the Fromagerie as we are leaving town and we stock up with their cheese to bring home for friends. Our hands down favourite is the "Adoray", a soft cow's milk cheese that has been wrapped inside a ring of spruce bark!!!! Flavours of wood shavings, spices and damp hay. It's truly wonderful and very unique. GO HERE! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!

We had our daughter's 12th birthday party at Clip n Climb and she had a great time. She had 1hr 15 mins of climbing (all supervised by staff) and then 45 minutes in a party room. There is a separate area for kids' climbing (only kids) and they limit the numbers so very little lining up. We used the party room after for pizza and cake. Definitely recommend.

The best acoustical guitar player of all time? Tommy Emmanuel, an Australian guitarist, songwriter, and singer, best known for his complex fingerstyle technique, energetic performances and unique percussive effects on the guitar. I witnessed all of his impressive skills and prodigious talent at Théâtre du Casino, in Gatineau (Hull). It’s the largest performance hall in the Outaouais area, seating more than 1,000 inside the Lac-Leamy Complex which comprises the Casino, the Hilton Lac-Leamy Hotel, a conference centre, the Théâtre du Casino, restaurants, bars and a nightclub. The wide-spanned theatre features immediacy, patrons never seated more than 25m from the stage. Sumptuous carpeting, rich woodwork and sensuous colours complement the inviting atmosphere.
