Great Lake view cottages, friendly staff

Reviewed By bompasen

Very nice place with a great view. The staff Benedict was so helpful and nice. Also the guide Owen who took us canoeing was awesome. The beds in these cottages are comfy and we had a nice little porch outside. The food was great, don’t miss out one of the crayfish dishes. The only cons with this place was that the power went on and off some times and therefore it was hard to get warm water to take a shower. Otherwise a wonderful stay just by the lake.

I spent a night at Emburara Farm Lodge and my there was nothing but pleasent. The staff at the lodge are friendly, warm and very welcoming; even Nini the cat was part of the welcoming committee and made my stay at the lodge memorable. The lodge has activities that guest can do during their stay at the lodge...i missed the evening birding tour but I hear it is a lovely experience. The next morning I milked cows...an experience that is a must do for anyone planning to stay at Emburara. The food at the lodge was mouth watering and I got to learn that the lodge actually makes their own organic jam. All the vegetables served to guest is grown at the lodge. I will definitely be taking my clients to Emburara Farm Lodge. Simply luxury at its best!!!!!!

Best birthday treat

It was my first time at Kikirongo Safari Lodge and it exceeded all my expectations. The sunrises against the backdrop of Lake Kikorongo & Lake George (or Edward) were absolutely amazing. The staff were polite, helpful and always pleasant. The chalets are very spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool was enjoyable and it is a work of art. My family members and I really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this safari lodge. My first experience of staying at this place will last a lifetime. I intend to go back as soon as I can manage it.

Green, Cozy and Quiet Hotel

Reviewed By Mamerito

We left Kampala on a rainy morning through Masaka - Mbarara-Ntungamo - Rukingiri - Kihihi route. Having travelled for 6 hours, we finally arrived at this well kept clean hotel with large green garden. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room (labelled gorilla) was located facing the green fence. The beautiful walking and pathway to the room are paved with stones and on the side are well maintained plants. The room have huge bathroom fitted with warm shower, though at one evening, the pressure was low due to the ongoing road construction which affected water supply to the area. Ronah and her team are the most amazing hostesses - warm, engaging, makes you feel at home. I loved large bedroom fitted with mosquito net, with lots of soft pillows and warm bedsheets. We enjoyed wandering around the area through the local village. Our guide had proposed a visit to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kihihi Town and finally visited bthe Golf Course at Savannah Golf Club. Breakfast was incredible - home-made katogo (with home grown matooke, ground nuts), fresh passion fruit / melon juice, fruit...perfect way to start the day. Location is perfect for a gorilla trekking trip if you dont want to spend the night in a expensive lodge in the Bwindi national park.

Kibale Guest Cottages

Excellent stay in Kibale

Reviewed By Meander67675714204

It’s fantastic how close this place is to Kibale for chimp trekking (5 mins). While getting from place to place in Uganda can take some time but it’d be worth staying here even if it was much further away (bumpy roads and all). The rooms are spacious with classic African architecture. Wifi worked well (assuming you actually want to use it instead of just disconnecting). The beds were comfortable and a great way to recharge after a day of trekking. The staff was friendly and helpful. And plus I had the best meal I had had in Uganda here. Literally so good that i had it two nights in a row.

Eco Agric Uganda Cottages

These are Eco-friendly cottages with walls made up of mud and grass. They are away from Hoima town. Pay $1 for bodaboda and $6 for transport from Town to the cottages. It is a quiet simple place where you can even prepare your own food if you want. You can even mix with the community and have a feel of the culture

Cosy, peaceful and a good cause

Reviewed By 183HWest

The cottages are cosy and the facilities are basic, but the main draw of this place is the causes it supports (through the Eco Agric NGO) and the fact that it's an interesting place to stay in Hoima (most of the other options are corporate-looking hotels, indistinguishable from anywhere else in the world). Definitely book to have dinner - the food is grown in the cottages' gardens, and you'll likely eat with the permanent staff and the resident volunteers, who will explain the work that the NGO does. It's also in a peaceful place outside of town, and you'll probably be woken by the cockerel wandering around the garden. NB, the location was a little tricky for us to find - I'd suggest asking Robert for the coordinates in advance, and then look for the poles painted in the colours of the Ugandan flag.
