Reviews on Central European food in Nachod, Bohemia, Czech Republic. Náchod (Czech pronunciation: [ˈnaːxot]; German: Nachod [ˈnaːxɔt]) is a town in the Czech Republic, in the Hradec Králové Region. Náchod is located in the valley of the river Metuje, in an upland area between the mountain ranges of Krkonoše and Orlické hory. It is the seat of a district court, the office of district prosecuting attorney and a number of district chapters of other government agencies, several primary and secondary level schools, a hospital and other social facilities. Sights include a magnificent castle and other places in and around the town (Nové Město nad Metují, Ratibořice, Kuks, Trutnov, Broumov). The area offers a variety of natural sights and opportunities for outdoor activities (hiking, cycling, skiing, rock climbing in sandstone formations).

We came only for accomodation, 1 night. A nicely furnished room in the French style with balcony, but very small, passage by the wall for a thin person, tiny toilet, tiny shower with shampoo and showergel and soap. Breakfast was the smallest of all in the mountains. Parking for free. Hotel in the mountains, along 3 roads (noisy). Very nice staff. We may pay in Polish zÅoty and they were helpful. But too expensive for small room with small breakfast.

The restaurant is in modern, simple style. Food can be variable, particularly outside the main season. The main attraction is the amazing view of the town, particularly from the outside terrace, but the restaurants on the main square are better value.

Although the restaurant looks very classic and a bit outdated at first sight - it's well worth visiting. The staff provides a friendly service - the kitchen offers tasty food for a real fair price. Although the restaurant is located in Poland (about 3 km from the czech border by car, not even 1 km by bicycle) they offer mostly czech dishes.

One of the few great restaurants I have visited so far. The food is very good, cooked to perfection. One of the Best żurek soups i have ever had. Flawless service - extremely kind, well trained and professional, you would expect that from a 5 star restaurant in a big city, not from a small town place. Congratulations. Note that unfortunately sometimes they can be closed-booked for private dinner party - we were lucky to arrive just when it finished. It is worth calling them before arrival as they are not in very central location.

My fish (trout with garlic) was very tasty. The outdoor table was nice and cosy and service extremely friendly and helpful (even though almost all staff members looked like they were very young and new arrivals in this profession). I liked a lot the 'we do not offer it usually, but we will deliver attitude'. Food and coctails at the nearby tables looked very nice so I will definitely visit them again.

I loved their traditional Czech food, 4 persons ate fried cheese, potato croquets and tomato/cucumber salad, drank beer and we paid 800 kr including tip. Food was very delicious and cheap even though it's a restaurant located in the market square. Furniture and generally design are pretty old, but for me it isn't a big disadvantage. Service was very good and fast. I'm not sure if it's allowed to smoke there or not, but no one smoked and there was no characteristic smell.
