Went for dinner. Good friendly service. Do not be put off by the barn like place, it was open and thus cooler. Fish seafood esp fish was the highlight to a good meal. Prices good and food excellent.

So we did. Over a long lunch that was.We had a day to spare before our evening flight so scoped out the marina (for future reference). The whole area is quite remote from the road , our driver had to leave his ID at security. But it is wonderfully serene on the front deck of the restaurant looking at the bay & with cruising yachties being the main clientele, no-one is in a hurry.We continued our papaya salad comparison & the one served at the Deck was the spiciest of all during our trip! We rubbed salt on our lips but they continued to tingle!! We followed it with another trip meal comparison of Pad Se-ewe which was also a solid choice. Finally we opted for the beef green curry which was plenty tasty & still cooler than the salad.The bathrooms in the complex were spectacular & almost worth a visit by themselves, and theres a large lounge area adjoining the restaurant. The cruisers who frequent this place are certainly marvellously well looked after! And by the time we were leaving round 5pm they were getting all the bbqs set up for the dinner buffet!So if youre in the mood for a really lazy morning or afternoon then this is the place to be.Dear Sail_Scarlett,Wowwwwww!!! Pricey and not strong drinks - Pool stools are so high they are not comfortable at all and next to the poo volleyball court so it can be noisy and you need to watch for volleyballs!

Fabulous food, they offer an Arabic, Thai and Indian menu. We ordered from the Indian menu - it was outstanding. After dinner Chef Sunil checked up on us - customer service at its best! We were going to book Takieng, the Thai restaurant in the same hotel but it was booked out for a private function. The hotel suggested that we go to Sand Box downstairs instead and they would let us order from both menus. This turned out to be a fantastic arrangement. It is a beachfront restaurant and we arrived just in time for the sunset. We had Thai food that night but there is also a great selection of Western dishes including pages of salads and poke bowls on the menu. There is also a kids menu. Staff were super helpful and friendly. I wouldâve liked to visit again had I not have to fly home tomorrow. I highly recommend this place if you happen to be staying in the Mai Khao beach area.
