Hayle (Cornish: Heyl, lit. "estuary") is a small town, civil parish and cargo port in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated at the mouth of the Hayle River (which discharges into St Ives Bay) and is approximately seven miles (11 km) northeast of Penzance.

Shore Surf School

Shore Surf has two beach front locations within St Ives Bay, Cornwall. We offer lessons daily from our Surf Centre of Excellence at St. Ives Bay Holiday Park and our Surf Camp on the beautiful National Trust beach of Godrevy. "Learn to Surf" lessons where you are instructed in groups of similar ability are offered daily either 10am-12.30pm and 2-4.30pm and cost only £35 pp. Surf Courses are also available and cost from as little as £80 for a 3 x lesson course. Discounts are available for larger groups. 2 hour Private Lessons where you will be taught and receive the undivided attention of your instructor are only £80, these private lessons are also available for groups. We take care of everything you need with our Door To Shore service. Transportation to the best beaches, equipment hire and expert tuition mean you're free to enjoy your time in Cornwall.

Come and surf with us at St Ives Bay in Cornwall. Learn the basics of surfing or fine tune your technique with a surfing lesson at the Gwithian Academy of Surfing - one of Cornwall's longest running and most highly regarded surf schools. All of our coaches are fully qualified as surf coaches, lifeguards and first aiders and two have even coached the British Junior Surfing Team on a number of occasions. Gwithian Academy of Surfing is an Academy of Surfing Instructors Accredited Surf School (one of only three in Britain) that operates from Gwithian the Northernmost point of St Ives Bay. Our surf school is run from a beach-side location where we can offer changing facilities, a classroom for providing video analysis and ample parking. Bird in Hand, Hayle

Former Victorian coach-house, now converted into a popular pub on the outskirts of the town, situated next to Paradise park! Serving Great home cooked Food and brewing ales on the premises. There is a great atmosphere regular bands at the weekends with Sunday Afternoon music outside in the summer. Upstairs there is a full sized Snooker table, Pool table and Dart board.

Managed to get a table here, on the last day of our holiday, and boy was I glad we did, there was 5 of us, and we all had a great meal, my wife and I had the Sunday roast, and it was super, the portion size was very good, the staff were all good and helpful, if ever I'm down this was again, I know where I will be booking for a meal, people say about the car park, but maybe thats because its a popular place

Hayle Heritage Centre

CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE Hayle Heritage Centre promotes the rich social and industrial history of the town from its beginnings as an Iron Age settlement through to its role as a powerhouse of Victorian industry. Hayle Heritage Centre and the site of Harvey's Foundry form part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage site. The Centre has a wide-ranging programme of activities and events from April until October each year, including guided site tours and art-based workshops.

This was the last thing we expected to find in Hayle but this charming building has some very good independent traders and upstairs it is full of antiques (BBC filmed there earlier in 2020)

We are Cornwall's only stockist of "Vintro" chalk paint , available in 45 great colours and one of the best for coverage on the market. We also have a fabulous range of drawer knobs and pulls and stock everything for your shabby chic projects from brushes to decoupage paper. We love our range of vintage studio pottery including local Cornish and also french enamel and farmhouse furniture

The Copperhouse

Wonderful new look Copper House Inn with vibrant Cornish Gin bar, Real ales and Sky sports. The pub has a beer garden and a coffee bar with Cornish tea and coffee and freshly made cakes. Our Chef uses local ingredients to create fantastic Pub Grub and delicious Sunday Roasts.

The pub has been revamped and looks amazing. The food was very good, the belly pork starter was delicious and the Moo and Blue pie was also really nice. Will definitely go back.
