Top 8 Specialty lodgings in Ghent, Belgium

April 28, 2023 Sachiko Swiger

Belgium's fourth-largest - and most beautiful - city is home to a quarter of a million people and a flourishing flower export trade. An important port, Ghent's city center is a pedestrian area that is like a museum to early Flemish architecture and a testament to the city's medieval might. Impressive Gothic sites, such as dramatic St. Bavo's Cathedral and the Castle of the Counts, inspire awe. The works of Flemish masters are housed in the distinguished Museum voor Schone Kunst.

A very good surprise

I was in Ghent for a single night and booked this place for the location, near the train station. Turns out it was a very pleasant place, clean, organized, with easy access. For the price, it was perfect for my needs. I can't comment much on the location regarding what do do in Ghent ad I didn't have much time in the city, but I certainly recommend if the station or nearby locations are what you're in the city for.

Chocoladeweekend

Beautiful room and great breakfast

I got the orange room, which has big windows that look out on the cosy garden. I slept like a baby between the linen sheets. In the morning, the host prepared my eggs exactly I like them. I'll be back here for sure. Thanks Guy & Polo!

Great stay!

Thank you to the awesome host Leonard and his creative house for a great stay. We loved the unique decor. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, especially the bed. The place is quiet and located on a calm street but bars and restaurants are so close just 5 minutes walk away. Bon courage et merci :)

really nice apartment, well equiped, location excellent. we are a family with 3 children. the fact that it is right in the centre there was no need to use any form of transport and when tired we could easily go back. the appartment is very big and this made it a lot easier with the children.

I don't recommend

Reviewed By Marcelo D

We had an upsetting experience at this place. We checked-in in the store next to the appartment and entered with our luggage in the building. Although it was 4pm, the room was not ready yet (check in allowed from 2pm on) and the cleaning was still going on. After waiting the cleaning to end, we left our luggage in the room and went for a walk in the city and when we returned, about 10pm, the magnetic card did allow access to the building but not to the room. As the hotel does not have a reception (they operate in the store next door until 6pm), we had to call the hotel number available on the website and reservation. However, none of these numbers answered. This way we had to call the web travel agency for a reallocation in another hotel. We waited for more than two hours until the reservation was made at another hotel and we still spent the night without our suitcases and personal belongings. We do not recommend to stay at this hotel, as there is no support at all after 6pm in the event of an emergency. In addition, the place does not have an elevator and the stairs are narrow to carry suitcases which makes access difficult.
