Find out what Pizza restaurants to try in Pantelleria. This small, hilly island between Sicily and Tunisia is growing in popularity as a tourist destination (so if you’re like us, you’ll want to get there soon). Rent a moped to explore. One must-see: the island’s thermal pools. Beaches are rocky, but offer great snorkeling just offshore.

La Pergola is situated on the west side of Pantelleria Island. It's located right off of the island's perimeter road. In the tourist off season, the restaurant has limited operating hours which are on weekends. It boasts a spacious dinning room with elements of fine dinning to include table clothes, cloth napkins, silverware, and quality glassware. The establishment is family owned and operated, and it appears that it's usual patrons are families. Ivan is the chief waiter, and he provides impeccable service. Fortunately, his English is pretty good, too. There is no shortage of Italian fare on the menu. Of course, the local favorites are offered including Spaghetti Pantesca. The real winner though is the housemade Cream Limoncello. It is the real deal...make sure you have a designated driver on hand.

My husband and I decided to dine at this restaurant last week during our week's holiday on the island of Pantelleria. Our decision was based on appealing adverts and a recommendation from the agency we rented our dammuso from. On arriving at the restaurant, initial impressions were mixed, a friendly waitress accompanied us to one of the restaurant's garden patios, a courtyard at the back side of the building. She told us that they had hoped to set the tables there but because rain was expected they had decided not to. We didn't mind settling for a table in the main room, it had a pleasant feeling. Another waitress brought us menus and drinks. We asked for a glass of wine. We were told there was only one type available by glass and didn't like how it was served to us. The waitress took a bottle that had already been opened, from a huge, industrial fridge. I ordered the pasta with the "tasty pantellesca" sauce, overall the dish looked inviting but I didn't find it as tasty as I expected. My husband ordered the red prawns, it was a main dish, there were 5 prawns, some sauce, no vegetables, the cost was 28 euro. We both had a desert. The young man who brought us the desert menu never spoke to us. As we witnessed the waitresses more interested in talking to the cat than us we felt more and more uncomfortable (we were served by 3/4 different people). We have been lucky to have travelled the world extensively over the past 30 years so we can't help to notice all the different aspects of eating out. I believe being welcomed and treated with respect and kindness is key to the experience. Noone said goodbye to us or thanked us. We would never come here again.

Panificio Terremoto

Reviewed By BIG_VINX

Every time I head down to Khamma, I always wondered why there was a long line outside of Panificio Terremoto. I assumed it must have had the best pastries in the world. Not wanting to wait in line for 30mins for a piece of bread, my friends and I decided to hit up the place in the morning. While there was no line outside the store, there was a line inside. Their assortment of pastry looks very pretty. After enduring what seemed like a bread shortage rush, we tasted the sweet pastries and bake goods we had bought. All in all, the pastries are tasty and delicious - soft and very tasty. But in retrospect, it's not something that is so different from other bakeries. The line might have added to the hysteria and the hype. Still I don't regret trying.
