Top 8 Kayaking & Canoeing in Toronto, Canada

October 27, 2021 Yuk Petri

We've heard Toronto described as "New York City run by the Swiss," and it's true—you can find world-class theater, shopping and restaurants here, but the sidewalks are clean and the people are friendly. The best place to start is literally at the top—the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere.

Canoe Toronto

Canoe Toronto offers canoe tours to Toronto Islands and Toronto Harbour for groups, families and individuals. It's an ideal activity for schools, kids camps, group of friends, etc. Paddling a canoe to the islands is an alternative and active transportation that provides physical activity and helps to keep our planet green. Our canoes range in size and can accommodate up to 20 paddlers in our biggest boats. Replicated from the Fur Trade Era Voyageur Canoes, our boats provide a historical and educational options for a class on the water, for school groups. The canoe tours range from 30-min Harbour Tour to 3hr Toronto Islands Tour. During our island tours we visit the Bird Sanctuary and many beautiful islands, disembark and spend some time at the Centre Island and many more. Our Canoe and Camp Fire Tours offer a stunning night views of the city skyline, campfire on the island, marshmallows, and hot chocolate. More and more popular are becoming our Island Shuttles, where we drop you on the islands and you are free to come back any time on your own. Each canoe is provided with guide/instructor who is well trained and would be happy to teach you a few paddling techniques, take your photos, tell about the history of the islands and answer all your questions.

Canoe Tours of the Toronto Islands on a Voyageur Canoe with a Paddle Canada guide and instructor

Paddling has been my passion and a job for the past 20 years. I live on the Toronto Islands during the paddling season and travel outside of Canada for the rest of the year. I like learning about different cultures and meeting people from around the world. I hold an Advance Paddle Board Instructor and a Big Canoe Instructor Certificates from Paddle Canada and also First Aid and CPR certified.
