Reviewed By mafischlMy wife and I read about Winzerhof in one of the guidebooks. The place was absolutely charming as was Alken itself. I had the pork lard with bread as an appetizer. It was really good. For the main course my wife had the cold roast beef with warm potato salad. I had the grilled pork neck. All delicious.

Reviewed By travelingalongjjAfter walking 16 miles from Stolzenfels Castle we were relieved to find a quiet room here at Moselhotel. The staff were welcoming and helpful. It is along the main walkway in Alken and close to the Information Center where we were able to buy maps and books on the Moselle Camino. This is a busy area filled with wine tasters, we were lucky to get the last room on a Sunday night. The breakfast was excellent, typical European faire of cured meats, boiled eggs, cheeses, nutella spread, yogurts and good coffee.

Beautiful location, great service, good food

The staff could not have been more friendly right from the moment we walked in and were greeted with a delicious local cocktail to the check out. Everything was perfect. The breakfast was extensive and plenty of everything. The evening meal is simple, local food but very enjoyable and the selection of German wines was good. The bed room was big, the bathroom amazingly small but everything worked well and everything was spotless. Excellent value for money.

A short but perfect stay
Reviewed By Very_TerryThis was our first stop in Germany on a German road trip. The hotel is situated at the edge of Alken, with the Moselle flowing by in front of it and a vineyard stretching up into the hills behind it - a quiet and pretty setting. We received a very friendly welcome and was shown our room (Room 3). The room was a good size, clean, tidy and well equipped. In fact it was quite beautiful in many ways, with a homely feeling and a thoughtful attention to detail. We dined in the restaurant below that evening and had an excellent meal. The service was very good and the restaurant, like the rooms, was very pretty with lots of interesting detail. The hotel / restaurant didn’t serve breakfast but we were given a great recommendation for a cafe a few doors along. In summary, this was a first rate location and thoroughly recommended. The only disappointing thing was that we hadn’t planned to stay longer.

Reviewed By TravelaanddWe booked this one bedroom apartment for 4 nights, located on the Mosel River! Couldn’t have been happier with the apartment or the location. The Mosel in my opinion is much more beautiful than even the Rhine. The apartment was amazing! Huge rooms full kitchen, beautiful balcony. This is a self catering place but just hit the grocery or go to one of the lovely little cafe’s! Views from this room spectacular castle behind and river right in front! There are more popular and larger villages along the Mosel but if you like smaller and less touristy this is for you. We just did day trips to the other villages and of course wine tasting!

Reviewed By Helmio BWoW effect villa verdeeld over 2 woonlagen. Alles op de foto’s klopte! Eigenaren ontvangst zeer vriendelijk! Hebben ons rondgeleid! Wat een tip zou kunnen zijn dat er een airco of blower aanwezig zou zijn. Nou is de hitte extreem maar toch voor een 5 sterren appartement ?!

Reviewed By Christiane SIch bin aufgrund von guten Bewertungen bei Google dort gezielt hin. Die Karte hatte neben 3 Arten von Hacksteak-Gerichten und diversen Schnitzelvariationen noch weitere Gerichte auf der Karte. Wir wählten Hackschnitzel mit Jägersoße und Salat und Cordon Bleu mit Kartoffelsalat (ursprünglich Pommes) und Salat. Wir waren beide unabhängig voneinander jeweils sehr enttäuscht. Salatsoße mit Fertigdressing á la Knorr. Die Jägersoße hat auch nach Tütensoße geschmeckt und die Pilze waren aus der Dose oder Glas. Pommes waren jedoch frisch. Das Cordon Bleu selbst war klein und hatte auch eine Champignonssoße drüber, die wir beide als nicht unbedingt selbstgemacht eingestuft haben. Der Kartoffelsalat war mit Majonaise und hatte Ei und Zwiebel drin, aber auch hier hat es eher nach Fertigsalat geschmeckt. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht. Da wir aus der Küche des öfteren die Mikrowelle gehört haben, passt das gut ins Bild. Wir kommen definitiv nicht nochmal und brauchten danach erstmal einen Schnaps zur Verdauung. Die Wirtin war sehr freundlich, aber hilft nicht über die Qualität des Essens hinweg.
