Game drives at Phalaborwa Gate in Kruger National Park

Reviewed By Lutsedutours - Acornhoek, South Africa

Phalaborwa Gate offers an interesting landscape; granite stands forms a series of kloppies that have been used as navigational landmarks for centuries. The grass of this region is both sweet and sour, but is usually scattered due to lack of rainfall. The best game spotting is in the drainage lines and the contours around dry stream beds as the more luscious grasses are usually found in the lower lying areas. You have an opportunity to exit your vehicle within 10 kilometres/6.2 miles from entering Phalaborwa Gate

Tshokwane Picnic Site

Reviewed By Instep - Torquay, United Kingdom

This is a great pit stop in a central part of Kruger. The place is staffed by great friendly people and the choice of food from breakfast to main meals is good. The toilet facilities are very good when you consider where you are. The toilets along with the other buildings have been decorated in an interesting style using repurposed objects. In an area where facilities can often seem run down or lacking investment this is one place that bucks that trend. Somebody has taken time, trouble and effort to make things look good and it shows! We are looking forward to our next pit stop, an excellent coffee and a rest in the comfy wicker chairs on the porch.
