Top 7 Things to do Adventurous in Pretoria, Gauteng

September 3, 2021 Stefan Strunk

Pretoria is a vision of purple, thanks to its plethora of blossoming trees that gave the South African metropolis its nickname: Jacaranda City. Give in to the animal magnetism of the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa, then get up close and personal with the big, bad kitties of the Cheetah Research and Breeding Centre. The buildings of Pretoria reflect diverse architectural styles and influences, creating a unique urban landscape.

If you love horses and wildlife, please come here! We had a great riding-safari and were lucky enough to even see the giraffes! Our guides Marie and Alec were very knowledgeable and took great care of us. We felt very safe the whole time and it was just an incredible experience :-) A must-try is also the homemade pizza in the beautiful garden of the farm, very yummy.

Glen Afric

First night stay of a family holiday to South Africa and booked four safari tents. What a fantastic choice. Sure, the tents are basic but they are roomy, spotlessly clean and come with full en-suites and double or single beds. All family members had a great nights sleep and awoke to a variety of wildlife virtually outside every tent - wildebeest, giraffe, zebra. What a great start to any day!! Meals (dinner and breakfast) were excellent. All freshly cooked and served by couteous, friendly and efficient staff. Can thouroughly recommend Glen Afric. Mine and my wifes second visit here but the rest of our family's first. Superb value for money and everyone wished we had booked for longer. Thank you Glen Afric. We will be back
