Hummus-Ya

Food was good but not the best hummus and falafel we had at Lake Atitlan. The hummus was way too strong on tahini for our taste (not enough chickpea and lemon to even it out). Pita bread was soft but no wholemeal option. Falafel was tasty. Mint tea was really fresh and excellent. Would recommend trying this place but I have to say that the falafel plate at Shanti Shanti 2 was better (and cheaper).

In one week, I ate here 4 times. It is clean, the food is great, service is good and very reasonable priced. I had the special Mediterranean plate with hummus, falafel, and salads. Everything was delicious. Some nights there is live music. A family run restaurant with wonderful owners. One of my favorite restaurants in the area.

Ha Falafel

Totally unassuming, 3 min from the Pana dock, 25q falafel wraps, soft drinks and nothing else. Simple, cheap, and oh, so filling, this reminds me of real falafel/fry/shawarma stands in Europe and Turkey. Pretty sure they try to keep it as kosher as possible (closed Saturdays from what I've seen) and though the place is as frequented as flies as by customers, don't let that put you off. I haven't had falafel this good in years. When they ask you if you want it spicy they mean REALLY spicy, Asia spicy, not South of the US border "spicy light" a lot of us are used to so keep that in mind when they douse your pita in flavorful fire. This place is my munchie staple. It keeps weird hours sometimes but that's to be expected in places like this. It's not really the sort of place I sit and chill, more of a grab and go, but it IS a good place to meet people and located pretty conveniently being right near the docks and many bars so there's no excuse to drink on an empty stomach as long as they're open. TBH they could work a little on cleanliness but I've never been ill there, so they still win!

The Clover

The Clover Restaurant offers a great variaty of nacional and internacional food, with a friendly service, in a beautiful garden with lake view.

Conveniently located in the tourist area, a big choice of international dishes. The pasta carbonara was quite good (less than 6$). It’s a restaurant with mixed local and expat staff, so Spanish and English are both fine. Nice view on the lake from the garden!

Completely perfect! The place is peaceful and beautiful with an incredible view, very nice vibe. The food was incredibly delicious!!! I went there for lunch on saturday with my family and my two dogs. The service was great, the waiters were super friendly and nice. We had some hummus which was delicious and the best artichokes I’ve ever had in my life! We also ordered pasta, sababa fish, stuffed peppers and a chicken salad and it was all yummy and fresh ♥️. We enjoyed Sababa and we will definitely go back (can’t wait till next time).
