Good food nice rooms
Reviewed By VilsgraFamily celebrations are not easy to organize. This hotel was very helpful. We spent a perfect weekend with very good food. The rooms are very clean. We could bring a dog and could use a very large rooms that allowed us to stay together with our dog and two kids. The hotel is on the outskirts and a good starting point for hikes.

Reviewed By Towelie196What a wonderful hotel. We stayed here for eight nights in December and absolutely loved it. Breakfast was amazing, especially the bagel and custom omelets. The room was spacious and the patio overlooking the park was amazing. This was the first hotel we requested a crib and actually received it without asking, along with a baby amenity kit. Minibar was quite reasonable as well. The staff spoke perfect English and remembered us from the first night. They were always accommodating and happy to help with any request. Proximity to public transportation makes this hotel an excellent choice in a perfect location in foothills of the Black Forest. There were numerous walking trails connecting the local villages, we highly recommend walking through Etzenrot as well as a trip to Ettlingen or walk to Busenbach.

Reviewed By Marion4444Wir haben sehr kurzfristig gebucht. Alles war perfekt und unkompliziert. Das schöne, sehr gepflegte und perfekt eingerichtete Apartment in dem kleinen Boardinghaus ist eine super Alternative zu einem Hotelzimmer.

Reviewed By Geschaeftsreisender9Das Hotel Krone ist ein typischer familiengeführter Hotelbetrieb. Wir hatten ein renoviertes Zimmer mit Balkon (Nr. 5). Besonders gut gefallen hat uns neben dem sehr freundlichen persönlichen Service die Sauberkeit des Zimmers und des Bades. Das Badezimmer war groß, die Dusche sehr groß, die Einrichtung stimmig, das Zimmer wirklich groß. Der Schlafkomfort war ausgezeichnet. Durch den Balkon konnte man noch sehr schon draußen sitzen. Die Bettumrandung mit Teppich ist Geschmackssache. Ich bevorzuge glatte Böden. Da aber Hotelhausschuhe bereit standen, war es für mich völlig ok. Das Frühstück war solide, frisch und die Besitzerin reagierte flexibel auf Sonderwünsche. Mir haben auch die Parkmöglichkeiten im Hof sehr gut gefallen. Für einen Kurzaufenthalt war alles bestens. Bei einem längeren Aufenthalt würde ich mir einen kleinen Kühlschrank auf dem Zimmer wünschen, um Getränke kalt zu halten. Zur Information (da ich selbst einige Zeit gehandicapt war) : das Hotel hat baulich bedingt viele Stufen und keinen Aufzug.

Reviewed By MCBDurhamWe were booked into the Hotel Strauss for 3 nights (Mon, Tues & Wed), the rooms being booked by a third party at late notice. Having flown from the UK into Frankfurt, the hotel was an 80 min drive along the autobahn for me, before a 10 min countryside run into Waldbronn. I arrived circa 2100hrs, and was surprised to find the hotel in darkness, not something I am personally used to, however a call to the proprietor Ahamed and I was shown to my room in a little over 10mins. The hotel is more of a cross between a hostel and a small apartment block, with no evidence of clientele movement as would normally be expected in a regular hotel, which was particularly beneficial given the long journey and need for rest. The rooms are basic but clean, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The room had a small table and lounge chair, small TV and a clean bathroom with shower cubicle. One aspect which was especially welcome was the endless supply of hot water, and a shower head which provided strong massaging relief at the end of a busy day. The hotel room key is attached to a second key, permitting 24hr access to the hotel, whilst retaining a level of security at all times. Breakfast is Continental if little limited, but personal requirements are catered for by an ever present proprietor. What earned this establishment a high rating however, was not the accommodation itself, nor the location, but the generous and helpful demeanour of its owner. We had arrived to undertake electrical work in a nearby factory, and given that Waldbronn itself is a ‘sleepy village’ in the German countryside, there was little opportunity to purchase consumables, leaving us with a dilemma. We need not have worried, since having conveyed our plight to Ahamed, he responded by offering access to his own equipment and stores, thereby resolving our problem in an instant. This is a gentleman from Eritrea who only acquired the hotel in November 2013, but what he lacks in experience is more than compensated for by his enthusiasm and attention to personal needs! Good hotel for overnight stay
Reviewed By InChina863We stayed here for one night in a family room (2 kids ages 7 and 5) and it was absolutely fine. Four beds in one room, comfy beds, good size bathroom and most importantly it was very clean. Breakfast was nice too: bread, dairy, cereal, cheese, coffee and tea, eggs, fresh fruits and veggies etc. There is indeed a church across the street and bells can be heard from 6 AM onwards. It didn't bother us at all. Since it was a hot day we slept with all windows open and didn't hear much noise (some cars passed by but nothing that kept us awake). Very friendly staff! Don't expect any luxury for the price you pay (very reasonably priced), and you will enjoy your stay!
