Curarrehue (Spanish pronunciation: [kuɾaˈrewe]) is a town and commune in Cautín Province of Araucanía Region, Chile. The origin of Curarrehue dates back to the occupation of Araucanía and the Conquest of the Desert by the Chilean and Argentine army respectively in the 1870s and 1880s when Mapuches were pushed by the Argentine Army through Mamuil Malal Pass into the valley of Curarrehue where they settled.

A small, well equipped stable with riding trails into the most amazing scenery climbing up to panoramic views of 4 volcanoes. Zuerst besuchten wir das Museum Mapuche in Curarrehue sehr interessant und aufschlussreich, leider war der Verkauf von Artesanales geschlossen, dann erkundigten wir uns nach der Pasarela ueber den Fluss Balsa, den wir nach einigen Irrfahrten ueber Caminos rurales endlich fanden beeindruckt von der Hoehe ca 100 m ueber den reißenden Fluss

Un excelente Panorama para conocer los volcanes, cabalgando por un hermoso bosque, guiados por un equipo muy profesional y orientado al visitante. Más que una cabalgata, una experiencia en sí misma llena de aprendizaje.

It’s required a good physical condition to enjoy this splendid track which conducts through a beautiful forest with lenga trees and aurucarias 40 meters tall. The final point consents a fantastic view. Better in a clear day but I made it in a (relatively) cloudy day with full satisfaction.

For this Leon Waterfalls you need to pay a small entry fee for the construction and maintenance of the walkways. At this location there is a full size restaurant next to the parking. The water fall has a distinctive step and is the largers in water volume of the three in the region.
