Visiting the Glasriket of Smaland, in the south of Sweden we stayed in the Vetlanda area. We know several good places for dinner in the area, but in this time of year (may) these are either closed or just serve lunch. So we found our way to the restaurant of the Best Western Hotel in Vetlanda. All 4 of us had a good dinner, but we especially liked the large pair of beef and pork fillets. Grilled just right, these were served on an oak plank, with fresh ananas, grilled tomato and a choice of sauce (I chose garlic butter). To keep the juices on the plank, its rim was a strip of mashed potatoes, also grilled. Also nice, because the wood isolates heat, it kept the meal warm during the entire dinner. While the choice of desserts was a bit limited, the two of us who selected one were also well pleased with the taste and presentation.

We had a great meal here. The staff was extremely kind and pleasant. The ambiance was also great, everything was clean and TV was on with Premier League. There was salad (cabbage) and all sorts of add-ons (mustard, ketchup, mayo) to the pizzas free of charge. They also serve coffee and other fast food – burgers and fries for example. Great job!

We stopped here on our drive through småland and the food was absolutely amazing. A nice mix of Greek and Lebanese dishes, everything fresh and tasty. Thy make everything themselves. The owner and his wife are lovely people and we felt very welcomed. A place I can warmly recommend!
