I enjoyed a festive dinner with colleagues in a chambre séparée at the Nautica (formerly the Nautical Club; its history goes back several years). Had an excellent starter of various picked herrings (a regional specialty) and a really good cheese, then reindeer steak as a main course. Whilst this menu might well be considered to be quite conventional and traditional, everything was very good and came with excellent wine pairings. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Wonderful food at reasonable price. Delicious sausages made at the brewery with sautéed potatoes, fresh salad of lettuce, pea shoots and seeds, and a light garlic mayonnaise. The vegetarian option was also very tasty apparently. The beers were offered in tiny glasses which let us try several even though we had to drive later. Highly recommended.

This part of Åland is more wild and lest touristic then around Mariehamn however I enjoy it a lot. Karingsund is a nice place over the water so you can enjoy the view. We eat pizza that was OK and good price. they have nice Terrace, swimming pool for kids, access to the see, disco, canoe and bike rental, bilard itp so depends on the weather you can find some activities for your self.

The surrounding: the yard of the posthouse. Historic stones. You can sit in- or outside. Outside with tables of old sewing machines. Lunchbuffet, rolls, and cakes. All very tasty, own products. Full range of beverages. In addition you can buy local products. The staff: very friendly, young and engaged. It is worth to stop here.
Swedisch kronor accepted. Dogs are not allowed insided.

My wife and I stopped for lunch on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. We each ordered a Carlsberg and sat out under a large umbrella.
I had the salmon with potatoes. Very generous serving of salmon. Loved it. My wife had the chèvre salad, and was also surprised by the large slab of cheese included.
No room for desert, we both left well satisfied.
I was glad I asked for a menu in English, as I nearly ordered nachos for lunch, which is not what I really wanted!
