Reasonable/good alternative in a city without many.
Reviewed By dtheumannLocation very good, almost in the center of the small town of Ratzeburg. Rooms are reasonable in size with some "aggesively" red pieces of decoration. Good bathroom reasonable with excellent shower. Breakfast is OK without being exceptional.WiFi connection is good. One negative aspect:the staircase leading to the guest rooms is very steep and not "user friendly". Fortunately the very kind son of the owner helped us with our small luggage so we didn't have problems climbing the "infamous" staircase !Rate for a double room at almost EUR 100 is a bit steep.

Das Croissant am Morgen, der ofenfrische Kuchen nachmittags und die regionalen Köstlichkeiten aus Wald und Wasser schmecken mit dem Blick auf die weite Glitzerfläche einfach doppelt so gut!

Reviewed By Cedars301We arrived and check-in was standard. We were early so we sat on the terrace area which was undoubtedly stunning and had a few drinks and our waitress was really nice. Plus the nice weather was fab. When we finally got to our room, it smelt of old smoke and being a non-smoker, it was not good. We went back to the terrace after a few hours in town and were met with a different type of service and it went down hill from there. I asked for a blanket as it got a little cold. 30 mins later, the waitress brought the blanket and literally threw it at me. The next day, we’re back on the terrace and had to go and find staff to get service. Other guests had commented the same. We had dinner on our 2nd night and it was delicious, and our server was lovely. Unfortunately, the finish of our stay was not good as it got cold outside & we wanted to sit at the bar inside. However, in a very impolite way, we were told we could not, that we could sit in the lobby. We decided to take our drinks to the room. For the prices charged, we expected more. Will not recommend this place to stay but for food we would recommend. After a year and a half of not being able to go anywhere because corona, we were really disappointed .

Reviewed By OGE2014This hotell is a must. Great service with a restaurant with top food. The Hotel is central in town. The Room is clean, the wifi is in function and if you go there with motorbike They offer you a parkspot in the Garage. We recommend this and will go back to explore this Hansa city more.

Reviewed By NLBankerWe had an excellent stay in this hostel. The room was spacious and clean, facilities are good. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. And what a view: the hostel is located at the lake. Make sure to ask for a room on the right side of the hostel.

On HH-RÜG long distance cycle path
Reviewed By Amstraveler... And less than 10 min cycle from the centre of Ratzeburg. As others have said it's a bit dark and smelly and polyester towels have never been my favourite. But the showers are excellent, the rooms large and it's in a quiet setting in the woods. Breakfast a slightly below average German cheese ham boiled egg and rolls affair. No wifi. Good value for money, but not our favourite accommodation of this trip. Overall
