Well worth a detour
Reviewed By RawfunI dined twice at the Restaurant zum Turm with my consort, a vegetarian this June while spending days on the Rheinsteig. The chef shows his deep love for food in his extraordinary command of blending flavors to develop complex sauces that satisfy the most demanding palate. I ate fish dishes of great variety, my love enjoyed asparagus in a tempera-like crust on risotto, desert included the well-known chocolate "muffin" with a melted chocolate heart - but reached the top level of satisfaction. Rarely you find a gem like this in Germany at very reasonable prices. The service was correspondingly elegant; knowledgeable, friendly and everything but arrogant.

Edgar is the Best!
Reviewed By John SWe spent 3 nights at the Hotel Deutsches Haus during our recent hike of the Rheinsteig/RheinBurgenWeg (or, as we call it, "The Rhine Roam". Our room was modest but clean...no air. But the owner, Edgar, was simply the best. His service was fantastic and we enjoyed his sense of humor. His brother (Willi) is the chef and a damned good one. We will never forget our dinners on their outdoor deck...wonderful meals coupled with a bottle of GB Sauvage Riesling (2012). Great memories! The breakfasts were wonderful and we were encouraged to pack anything extra for lunch....which we dutifuly did each day. While there might be more comfortable rooms elsewhere in town, the experience of the Deutsches Haus was one of the highlights of our trip. We'd do it again tomorrow. Thank you Edgar! John & Pam

Exzellenter Aufenthalt
Reviewed By 600herrkSehr geehrte Damen und Herren, als Geschäftsmann, der viel unterwegs ist, bin ich in einigen Hotels gewesen. Hier muß ich schreiben, daß es außerordentlich und überraschenderweise, sehr gut war. Die Zimmer sind sauber, groß genug, mit TV, Internet, Bademäntel, Abstellmöglichkeit etc. Die Betten werden frisch bezogen, nicht einfach nur ausgeschüttelt, das merkt man sofort. Die Matratze ist in einem hervorragenden Zustand, man liegt sehr gut. Durch die familiäre Bewirtung, zum Frühstück, fühlt man sich sehr willkommen. Herr Bodenheimer, ist als Ansprechpartner ein wahrer Geheimtipp. Ich habe dort sehr schöne Tage verbracht, geschäftlich wie auch privat. Von mir gibt es daher volle Punktzahl für solch ein wertiges, sauberes, ehrliches und schönes Haus. Komme uneingeschränkt wieder.

De Duitse YMCA, top!
Reviewed By Sallochy2016Enige hotel wat we via een boekingsite konden vinden. Bleek de Duitse versie van de YMCA te zijn. Zeer gemoedelijke sfeer. Goede kamers en lekker zitten met een fles wijn en een biertje wat je gewoon zelf uit de koelkast kon pakken. Prima ontbijt. Mensen waren echt top!

Einfache sehr saubere Unterkunft; Zimmer mit Klimaanlage
Reviewed By SimoneUferWir haben zwei Übernachtungen im Haus Grewe gehabt. Die Ferienwohnung war besetzt. Auf Empfehlung der sehr freundlichen Vermieterin haben wir ein Zimmer in der 2. Etage gebucht. Bad war über den Flur zu erreichen. In dem Flur waren ein Kühlschrank, Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, Espressomaschine, viel Geschirr und Besteck sowie Kaffee und Tee zur Nutzung. Das Zimmer war renoviert und nett eingerichtet. Es war alles sehr sauber! Die Vermieterin sowie die Dame, die uns den Schlüssel gegeben hat, waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Direkt neben Haus Grewe ist eine Bäckerei sowie ein kleines Lokal (Kaub Mitte) und der Laden (Tante Marion) ist keine 100m entfernt. Wir sind 2 Etappen des Rheinsteigs von dort aus gestartet. Klappt super, der Bahnhof ist zu Fuß in 10 Minuten erreichbar.

Wir waren entsetzt
Reviewed By GerwaltUnsere Zimmer im 3.OG waren über eine grenzwerige steile Treppe zu erreichen. Die beiden Doppelzimmer hatten wenigstens ein Duschbad für kleinwüchsige Menschen. Das Einzelzimmer hatte weder ein Bad noch einen Ferseher. Das Einzigste was ich für den Vermieter gut empfand , war der Wucherpreis. Hier würde ich nicht nochmal übernachten! Das Preisleistungsverhältniss war für unsere Zimmer daneben.
