A famous old restaurant in the hills overlooking Rimini - renovated and done up. The last time I had been here, the terrace overlooked a field with chickens, now it's replaced by a swimming pool and bar area where live events are held. The terrace looks like it's been extended, and there seem to be lots more tables.The restaurant was famous for its rustic dishes - especially il galletto or rooster. The food is still good,though and sticks to that rustic recipe.So the food is good and the place looks great - why the average review? The first thing is that we found ourselves guided to a table round the back beside the kitchens and serving areas, where there didn't seem to be space for a table. Throughout the night we had waiters squeezing by (with hot plates in hand). Talking with other friends, they had a similar experience. Also, by dint of the fact that the restaurant had so many tables, the service was average to poor. The impression we got was that the restaurant was pushed to capacity, and we were its over-capacity tables.Hopefully these are just teething problems with the restaurant re-adjusting to its make-over, because the place is beautiful, and the food is good.

We were 6 and we had a wonderful evening at Ristorante Cesare. We enjoyed each others company â not so much the food, and not so much the service. We had quail, we had "little pig" which turned out to be exactly that: A tiny small portion. As was the fact for the quail. The dishes? OK, but not fantastic. My wife chose chocolate fondant for dessert and found it extremely good: "The best dessert I've had for a looong time". The waiter told us it would be 10 minutes to wait for it to be made, but it didn't matter: My wife loved it. But, we ordered two chocolate cakes, and when we asked for it after 40 minutes the waiter offered nothing but lame excuses, no apologies. On the contrary, he turned defensive and left. Anyhow â this restaurant has a premium location but there is definitely room for improvement on other categories.

Conosco da tempo questo ristorante e ci vengo volentieri d'estate per fuggire dalla folla che assiepa la riviera e trovare tranquillità . Mangio all'esterno nei tavoli allestiti in giardino e ci trovo oltre i piatti in menù, anche sempre delle novità che dipendono dalla stagione. Ho mangiato dei fiori di zucca fritti ottimi e non unti e un filetto che sembrava burro. à un ristorante conosciuto per la loro carne di primissima qualità e per la generosità delle portate. Ottimo anche l'antipasto molto vario e abbondante. Dolci fatti in casa offerti dal locale.

We saw this Osteria on TripAdvisor and the reviews were good. We were not disappointed, this lovely place, with both inside & outside garden seating in a small village provided great service & value for money. We arrived slightly early and were told that we could sit outside in the lovely garden area whilst they set up. Listening to the birds cheap and watching the sunset was an added bonus. We had pasta and pizza, which we were told was produced from local produce, this was borne out by the chef picking basil from the garden. The wine list is extensive and obviously caters for the German tourist, with several sweet wines on offer. Friendly and helpful staff make this an obvious choice.Grazie! a presto!!!salutiCristian

Large family restaurant with American style menu which is varied.... good selection. Loved the popcorn served with your drinks..... nice touch.The burgers are cooked to your liking ..... very fresh and tasty..... quality meat used. My partner had the BBQ ribs which were not as good as the burger...... lots of fat and lacking in flavour.... disappointing. Overall a great restaurant with very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Definitely worth a visit but go for the burgers.

If you are staying or passing through Rimini, Trattoria Da Savino is a great place to stop, in my opinion especially for lunch. The views on the way there are lovely, and on arrival, you'll realise that you've stumbled on the "true Romagna"Marco, the son and head of house of this family run gem is welcoming, courteous, and professional - it is immediately apparent that he was weaned there, and runs his diner accordingly.On the dozens (yes dozens) of times I've eaten there, I've rarely had an under par meal, and even then it has been worthy of a good review. The menu is simple with several signature dishes which are freshly prepared and exceptionally consistent. How many times do you return to a restaurant to eat a certain dish only to be disappointed because it has been prepared differently? This at Savino won't happen.Good food, friendly service, excellent size portions, great value - what more can you ask for.As long as you understand that you'll be eating in a typical "no frills" Italian Trattoria, you will not be disillusioned, trust me.
