Spooky, run by a cult
Reviewed By HelloimamacWe stayed here June 5 and 6 while on a tour with Go Ahead Tours. Look, I don’t understand the consistent 5-star ratings, but this place was truly spooky. The hotel grounds are pretty, but are behind locked gates and barbed wire fencing. You are asked to identify yourself and purpose before they open the gate OR LET YOU OUT!! Even to get to a restaurant on site, you need to walk through two locked gates and buzz for permission to leave. The hotel was built and is run by “volunteers” who follow a guy named Carlo Tedeschi. Every painting, book, paper and all entertainment is done by him. The staff stays in a residence on the compound. They all want to show you the shrine they have built to “the founder”. There is no cell signal in the area and wifi wasn’t working so as a group, we were truly isolated and cut off from all communications. We were all seriously creeped out. Must admit, there was also some apprehension about our safety while there. Think Jim Jones cult.

Reviewed By ScootsBirminghamArrived at this accommodation just as the rain came in and hard to get attention of the owners, knocked and knocked and luckily a neighbour went and advised them we were their. Car park to the side of the houses with metal gate and appeared to be garden of block of apartments but not the case All good from here on in, nice large room with ceiling fan and pizza place and full blown restaurant on the ground floor. Good wine with the meal and coffee with breakfast so no complaints Good hosts who were friendly and gave ideas for places to visit Well located for San misano track where we are set wsbk
