We went there because we heard that the burgers and ribs were top notch! Well below is a summary of events:Quality of Chefs suggestion for burger: top notch! The difference from other burgers was that it was not composed of mince meat but of bona fide tender meat...Service: lower than poor! We ordered two identical burgers. One came but the other did not come, it appears that either the waitress took the wrong order or the kitchen made an error. I complained to the manager, because there we not a lot of customers, and these kind of errors should not have occurred. I got a very poor excuse, but most importantly, the manager just went and sat on a table at the end of the diner with some of his friends and did not move since then - is this a professional attitude? Not even to come and ask us if we wanted anything else, no other managerial gesture?The food itself was too blunt, just take a good look at the picture attached and you will understand... Other diners offer something in addition to just chips and burger, what a shame that there was a lack of sides... In addition, the top and bottom buns were a bit too much for the quantity of meat inside them.The atmosphere was took stiff, with plenty of wood inside the dinner (sorry for not taking pictures), but that was about it...Conclusion: If you want a good burger, order the specialty by the chef. If you want ambiance just forget it. If you want good manners, savoir-vivre, then there are other dinners nearby to visit! By the way, I have deliberately answered 'not sure' on all below because it gives out mixed signals, the identity of the establishment needs uplifting!!!Dear Stavros.Thank you so much for dining with us and for your feedback. Enjoyed the balcony eating area above the street( lots of action there!)The menu has some Somali style dishes, camel is featured along with Swahili cuisine and stirfry, burgers etc. Some delectable drinks offered fruit juices and smoothies. Wings are too complicated. Hated all the flavors especially the parmesan. Do not try parmesan. The wings would honestly be better when plain. The flavor was too much. The ketchup bottles were broken basically unkempt. Otherwise fries are ok. Salad is a joke really . Two pieces of carot and i think cucumber doesnt qualify as salad. And they were precut thus not fresh. Marula Mercantile offers a relaxed outdoor-dining experience. The food was excellent and the portion size was generous. Staff at MM were accommodating and friendly. I strongly recommend ordering the pulled pork flatbread. If you are eating here in the evening, bring a jacket as all of the seating is outdoors, however, heaters are provided for each table.
