Reserva Nacional Malalcahuello

Reviewed By FoodxFood

Very few hiking destinations in the world have such incredible infrastructure and so few hikers! Make a multiday trip here and you will have total solitude and an infinity of hikes. Hike up a volcano, run down a scree chute, camp where you like; you have total freedom here. Grab a local bus or hitch-hike from Curacautin. Make sure to hike in a water purification device. Water is available but the streams are frequently visited by roaming cattle.

Naty & Nacho are great tourguides. They speak fluent English and are very warm people. We we're not prepared, but they provided us with all the gear (Including clothes). Waxed skis and excellent guidance along the trip up vulcano Lonquimay. The area is perfect for cross country ski, worth your while when you're in Lake District.
