Our visit was just prior to the coronavirus taking hold and was a treat for our grandson's eight birthday. There was five in our group including my wife, son and the birthday boy and his younger brother (three years old) and our family ticket cost £48.00 with a further £2.00 spent on a food bag each for the boys to feed to the animals. We considered this a reasonable price as we were there from 10am to after 2pm. Having arrived at the opening time we had the place to ourselves for the first forty five minutes or so but after that it became steadily busier. The mix of animals and play areas worked well for the boys who each had a tractor to ride around the place. The youngest was captivated by the new indoor aviary and ,armed with a bird identity sheet, spent ages trying to find all the birds. We had great family time in the ball gun room there and had to drag the boys out of it. Our time there ended in the indoor play area where we had snacks - would recommend the sausage rolls. We all had a wonderful time there and will visit again. Thank you to all the staff at Barleylands. Next time my wife and I will also take time to explore the craft shops. We

Lake Meadows

I frequent Lake Meadows just to walk around the lake. Always plenty of people around with children and dogs. The path around the lake is pothole free and has a good surface for walking. There are a number of seats around the lake so it is easy to have a rest once in a while. An enjoyable venue.
