When we booked the table, we were worried that the restaurant had not understood our request for the table. It was three weeks in advance for five people, we needn't have worried. Service was brilliant, we had an excellent meal last night at Sukhothai. It was busy when we got there for 7. It was busy again when we left at 9.30You will need to book.

I ate here because it was open on a Monday night, when many other restaurants weres't. It was pleasant and competent, serving the usual âBritish Thaiâ food and drink offerings from a good menu, and all done pretty well. Quite high-priced for what it is, but definitely a reliable standby, if a bit unimaginative.

Visited the Thai Orchid on Monday evening for a quick bite. Was very surprised to see the restaurant completely empty, although it was still early about 7pm. We were greeted straight away by very friendly staff and shown to a table. We had heard many people comment on how good this restaurant was and we were not disappointed. From the ice cold glass of wine and beer to the starters and mains, the food was lovely. We ordered the platter to start and the tempura prawns. Both dishes were really tasty my only criticism is the tempura prawns weren't the same light tempura batter you usually get at a Thai restaurant, they were more crunchy batter, but me being picky they were still lovely to eat. I had my usual at Thai restaurants of the Thai Red Curry, it was fresh and really lovely albeit it is quite spicy so, if your not used to a little spice, maybe leave this one, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would have it again. My Husband had the Pad Thai and even though he became stuffed, he just kept going back for more. We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and wouldn't hesitate to return and with it being only 5 minutes up the road in the car, it's even better.

Visited for lunch and the restaurant was empty of customers. The set lunch was competitively priced and portions larger than other lunch specials in the area. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her pad kaprow with a fried egg. I had a pork laarb followed pork in garlic and pepper. Service was good and prices reasonable.

First time visiting the restaurant for valentineâs night. Booked in advance. Disappointed no effort for Valentines night. No balloons. No love heart in sight. !!! Think this would go a long way with future customers. Even a single rose for the lady. Unfortunately it was freezing in the restaurant, had to move tables as door kept opening. Then the next couple had to do the same. Must get door seen to. Food and staff was amazing. Food plates were hot but dishes food came were cold, please heat these aswell. Just need small attention to details to make it perfect. Go to many restaurants, always a complimentary drink offered. Just small things could make it great. Tablecloths for special nights. Would have stayed for coffee and desserts but just too cold to sit any longer. But must say again, staff & food fabulous. Will be returning!!!!!!
