This is not far out of Trujillo and a must see if you are in the area. Go to the museum first to get the historical perspective and then enjoy this relatively new excavation. Many uncoverings to see.

This excursion is very pleasant and interesting. You can visit the most important archaeological sites of Trujillo, which belong to the pre-Inca epoch; the colonial area of the city, the typical villages of the countryside, and the beach, where you can see the typical reed boats (replica of the ancient boats that were used by fishermen during pre-Inca epoch). This excursion depends on the ship's arrival and departure time; we will pick up guests from the port and will bring them back.

We booked a 3 day private tour with Peru Tours. We told them what we wanted to see and they put together an itinerary that included a transfer from Trujillo to Chiclayo. We were very happy with our guide, Ever Paredes, he was informative, attentive, and spoke very good English.
