The TAJ restaurant has been opened in the heart of our capital. The quite modest interior is supported by plentiful menu of the best Indian dishes. Juicy fish on grill with mature vegetables, a variety of side dishes including few sorts of rice - everyone

It was nice to see more Indian restaurants opened up in Dushanbe. One of commonality among them is the mediocre quality of food passed an Indian food. Itâs an heritage and pride of Indian culture our « food ». So suggest you improve the quality without making it too commercial.

They have good food. If you wanna really spice food, you should highlight it to the waiter and to repeat it couple of times in order to ensure that you will get wha you want. Recommendation is to order food immediately as you will wait long. I read some posts regarding wine good, bad, cheap, expensive. I got my gas of wine which was @#^*#, so recommendation is if you go for wine take full bottle, better avoid wine on glass. Desert, hmmm, only one was available, so if you like sweets better to ask in the beginning to avoid disappointment at the end of the dinner. As I said, service was very very slow, and bearing in mind that there are many expats and tourists visiting the place, they should hire better english speaking waiters.

Our office held an away-day planning meeting in the restaurant. The food was good (Tajik & Indian) and the conference room good for up to 10 people. The price was unbeatable for the quality - room rental free if they catered for coffee breaks and lunch. They also have a good catering service for off-site events.

We were five and the only guests. Staff that were smoking when we walked in quickly disappeared. Service was good with a friendly and eager waiter looking after us, and the food was pretty good, especially the samosas. We were put behind a curtain which presumably was the VIP booth, but would have preferred to be in the main space. The place is right on Rudaki Ave, directly opposite the Rudaki Plaza supermarket, and gives the impression it will be torn down soon to make way for a new building. If you are looking for a good Indian meal, and don't care about ambience, then this is your place in Dushanbe.
