Friendly Staff, Nice Atmosphere

Stayed here for a work trip for 4 nights (Sunday to Thursday). I arrived quite late at night, rang the bell for reception and someone promptly came out to see me. Checked in I was given my room key which was room no. 6. I walked to my room, found the room and tried the key fob, it didn’t work. A lady then opened the door and explained that it was her room... I was on my way back to reception when the man on reception confirmed I was going in the wrong direction. I explained I had been given room no. 6 and he confirmed it was wrong and it should have said room no. 2. He then kindly showed me to my room. An honest and easy mistake, so this was no problem. I arrived in my room, quite pleasant, really lovely bathroom with separate toilet, but a couple of basics missing and simple things that were needed in my opinion... 1. No hand soap, although body lotion, shower cap, shower gel & shampoo are included? No hand soap included for the 4 nights I was there. 2. Towels - only one small hand towel and a small/medium sized bath towel included for the room. For the price of the hotel and style I would have expected a bigger towel or at least 2 towels. 3. Lighting - main lighting is fairly dim and did flicker, but this is no problem as there is a table lamp, although this did not work when I tried it. I did however leave a note and the following day this was replaced. 4. TV - volume did not work, although channels and content ok. 5. Kettle - I requested a separate kettle for the room as I was feeling unwell and wanted to make myself some hot drinks rather than using the coffee machine water. This arrived, but the following day was removed again from the cleaners. As they could see I was still staying there, I’m not sure why they would remove this, but also not a major issue, just more of an annoyance. For any amenities, there is a shop a short walk away, so hand soap I was able to purchase and food/water etc for the room I could get easily. The breakfast is good and staff very friendly. The building is nice and well thought out. This was a work trip, so not my own personal money, however; I would not chose to stay here using my own budget, I think there are nicer hotels in the area. I did not eat the restaurant food, so cannot comment on this.

Check in and checkout were efficient and really quick! The rooms were super clean and spacious with nice views of the rose garden. A very peaceful setting and area. The toiletries were basic - no hair conditioner, body lotion or slippers. The breakfast was also basic - eggs cooked upon request, cheese, cured meats, yogurt and pastries. Convenient onsite parking and a large table outside to have a drink.

Very happy with this place

The host, Karel, was warm and welcoming on our arrival. The house is lovely and we were really pleased with our room and bathroom. Everything spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very generous indeed, and Karel was very obliging about making an early start if we needed it, as we were on a business trip. No hesitation in recommending Den Boomgaard!
