Wye Parish Church of St Gregory and St Martin

Reviewed By sabatinitennis - London, United Kingdom

Wye is a very smart church and this is a very smart and airy church. In 1686 the tower fell and destroyed the chancel after which a Wren inspired chancel was built to replace it. In the last war the church was bombed and the west window was lost. The current colourful and huge west window which depicts local scenes was unveiled in 1948. The pews were removed last year and in the porch are three war memorial. The result is an airy and spacious village church. It is most certainly a visit.

The Tickled Trout Bar

Reviewed By pollys_13 - Canterbury, United Kingdom

We jumped on the train at Canterbury to go and enjoy the pub garden at the tickled trout. As always we weren't disappointed. We arrived to find a lovely shady spot and ordered some drinks, the pub garden is so pretty with a great atmosphere. The river running along the bottom is always full of family's or their pet dogs cooling off from the sun. Although we always find the pub bustling with people we always manage to find somewhere to sit, quick service at the bar and a great bite to eat. The staff are always attentive and friendly although at busy times always seem to be rushed off their feet! We really enjoy the Sunday roast dinners, we find it difficult to find a good pub roast on a Sunday in Canterbury so love to venture out to surrounding villages to try out the pubs, the tickled trout never disappoints!! Will be back very soon!

The New Flying Horse Bar

Lovely pub in a quiet area. Staff were fantastic, polite and very helpful with seating us to suit our baby and pram. Service was very professional and helpful. The food was amazing and didn't take long to come to our table. Staff were fantastic and the layout made everyone feel safe. Will, definitely be back in the future. I'd definitely recommend the Chicken Schnitzel meal. Thank you
