At lunch time the restaurant was less than half full. The attractive interior raised hopes, but unfortunately the tired, unattentive service spoiled the experience.Taking orders already took a while, but it is incomprenesible that standard lunch dishes take half an hour to prepare in an emptyish restaurant?? The food was very standard German lunch food with below average value for price. The waitress-with-no-greetings kept the change of a couple of euros as a tip without asking.

The restaurant is part of the local golf club. The local is very well decorated with a sort of classy environment. The food is simply delicious, cooked with excellent ingredients in an open view kitchen.The speciality is the meat, which is really amazing.

Ratskeller is a German restaurant located in the City Hall building in the main Market Square in Dessau. It's a really cool building and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful as well. It has a very old feel. For dinner, I had chicken schnitzel, which was pretty good. The menus were in German, so I needed a colleague to translate. I wasn't sure about the schnitzel, but I was pleasantly surprised. And of course as a German restaurant, they had very good beer. The service was OK. It was a little slow. We had arrived rather late and so we were all hungry. It took nearly an hour from taking our order to getting our food. It also took a while to get the check when we were finished. The restaurant was mostly empty, so not sure why it was so slow. Besides that, it was a good meal and the location was really great. It's worth a stop visit just to see the building.

I ate at this restaurant twice. 1 day fish was served but it did not taste very well. It was quite a small portion and the fish was not really fresh. The other day I had a steak which was excellent. The service is excellent, they serve local beer and some other local products. The menu is rather small so it might be difficult to really find something. I recommend this restaurant if you anyway stay at the hotel.
