Favoured by our local friends. We sat outside and enjoyed the mixed starters (meze) followed by large tasty mains. Good value.

Friendly welcome (party of 6 friends), English menus offered. Good selection of Middle-Eastern dishes, including 3 or 4 vegetarian options. Food was superb - tasty, well cooked, perfectly seasoned and in substantial portions. Surprised at how low the bill was - absolute bargain.Attentive service, great atmosphere - absolute winner of a restaurant!

If you happen to step out the train or the Swebebahn in Wuppertal Oberarmen feeling a little peckish, just bypass Mac Donald, and head straight to this place. Don't let yourself be put off by the surroundings either: the Wupper Grill is top clean, the staff is always smiling and friendly, service is super fast and you'll eat the best kebab you've had in a really long time (or ever). They have already put out of business a couple of similar shops in the area... just couldn't compete. This is top class! Try it!

Restaurant Karawane

We were a group of 12 that had made reservations for a Friday evening (8pm) and thankful that we had as the restuarant was full. Atmosphere (+)The atmosphere was very warm with dimmed lights, stainedglass chandeliers, and old wooden tables. The inner appearance suited the theme of the restuarant (+). The overall temperature in the room felt like +28C, very warm so do not wear a sweater otherwise you will melt! (-) The resturant was clean and tidy, bathrooms included (+).Service (-)The waiter was rather neutral, i.e. he wasn't overly friendly but wasn't rude either (-/+). Definitely did not make a lasting impression. The speed of the service was extremely slow, i.e. we ordered drinks and more than 30 mins later they arrived. You got the feeling that they didn't want to hire more staff (i.e. same waiter walking around taking orders etc for the entire restuarant). This was the same with our meals, they took incredibly long to be served, therefore, if this restuarant can fix one Thing, i would suggest investing time/Money into improving the level and speed of Service (- -). Food (+)We orderd appetizers (20 mini plates ~18€), which came in little white bowls with different types of sauces and snacks, which also came with bread. It was okay, nothing spectacular (- / +). My advice would be to skip the appetizers because the meal itself is so big that i could not finish my plate because i had eaten the appetizers. I ordered number 25, (lamb, rice, etc.) and although it took 40-60mins for the meal to arrive, i can say that it was still warm (+), it was an extremely large portion (+), the taste was really good (+). The restuarant could cut about 25% of their portion and it would still be too much. It was sad to see so many 1/3 full plates being thrown into the garbage. Price (+)The price of the appetizer is rather high for these small dishes (-) but the price for the main meal (~15€) was extremely reasonable for all the food you get. Drinks are rather on the high side (4€ for Apfelsaftschorle)(-), but all in all, a reasonable meal for the experience.Recommendations:1) If you're going on a Friday or Saturday, make reservations.2) Ask for a table in the back where it is away from the front door and the bathrooms.3) do not wear a sweater, it's hot enough inside.4) expect slow service, but the food is worth it.Overall experience is rated as a 3 because this wasn't the best place I've visited, but surely not the worst. I would return, but not any time soon.
