Very good restaurant in downtown Viadana (northern Italy, Po river). Everything is home-made. Wonderful Tortelli di zucca (Pumpkin Tortelli), a very good choice of second serves and desserts.Don't miss!

Went to eat at this place twice with an Italian Business partner and I love it both times. The ambiance is great and the service is great and the food is really really delizioso. I will definitely eat here again when I go back to Italia. Grazie La Barrique for a great dine in experience. :)

...you would not leave.The place: an old rural house, quite large, well furnished in an ancient style. Must be very appealing in winter (fireplaces, etc.) but, since we went there in August, we decided to have lunch outside. Nice place with a cool breeze, shaded by trees and very close to a corn field. As I said, it's not easy to find it - it is in the middle of nowhere, and a GPS is strongly advised.The food: just one word: excellent, in the pure local tradition (gnocco fritto, affettati, tortelli di zucca, tortellini ripieni di spalla cotta, culatello arrosto, torta sbrisolona, etc.). The owner is very proud of the food he serves, and his suggestions are to be followed.The wine: I can't say much, we only had some Prosecco, and it was good.The service: as we had lunch there on August 13th, the place was not very crowded (actually, only two table were occupied), and the owner alone could provide an excellent service and was also able to spare some time discussing with us dishes and drinks and to share some facts of his private life. He is a very nice person indeed.The bill: reasonable.Conclusion: we will return, possibly in winter to enjoy the atmosphere of the inner dining rooms.
