Blondies is the local offering of a chippy opened a couple of years ago. Food is cooked to order and chips are cut just prior to frying so this ensures food is freshly prepared. Might have to wait 10-15 mins max but you can also telephone in advance to place an order. Really great fish and chips locally sourced and they have a mini version which is really decent even for adults with smaller appetites.

You could work up an appetite walking up the hill to Liss Ard. It's fairly high up. It would be worth the effort. Nice views of the surrounding country. And the food is superb. We're still talking about them. With drinks, â¬110 was very good value. We'd had a walk around the gardens earlier, which are lovely, and a visit to the 'sky garden', which is a slightly surreal, and magical experience.

We were on our way back from Schull and starving so we decided to grab some chipper food rather than keep going to Clonakilty. It's fairly basic and the portions were small but the service was quick enough. The chips were only ok and the lads said the fish was bland. We wouldn't be rushing back there though.
