A great pub in the center of Assen. Serving a lot of great beers and the best burgers in town! Located at 'de markt' with a big and sunny terras. Also perfect for receptions and other gatherings

Visited this bar twice whilst in Assen and both times sat outside and found the service to be exemplary. The staff all have handheld devices and the beer is with you before you even get the chance to pay. I was there over the Moto GP weekend and despite being very busy the staff were attentive and helpful even organizing a cab to take us back to Zuidlaren. Will definitely visit again.

Sinds enige tijd zit er vooraan de Rolderstraat het Petit café-restaurant Onique. Net buiten het echte stadscentrum en enigszins onopvallend in deze straat waar steeds meer kleine speciaalzaken en restaurantjes komen. Onique streeft er naar om een huiselijke, warme sfeer te creëren. Je kunt er terecht voor verschillende soorten koffie en thee, die je trouwens niet in de theedozen van de grotere gelegenheden vindt. Je krijgt er tekst en uitleg bij. Ook serveren ze er eigen gemaakt gebak en kleine maaltijden. Ik heb de indruk dat er vaste klanten komen voor een praatje (met de eigenaresse) of de krant. Niet iedereen zal een dergelijke ambiance waarderen, maar als je niet zo van grote, drukke gelegenheden houdt, dan is dit een aanrader, zeker omdat de prijzen zeer vriendelijk zijn.

Nice owner, the only pub with Guinness and Kilkenny in Assen. Cool music, great atmosphere. I really recommend this place, especially to foreign visitors, expats etc.
