Los Che

Very good food in a small restaurant with friendly service from Carlos and Gabi

Good restaurant with a couple of relative cheap menu options or 'à la carte' choices. I had empanadas with mozarella and spinach - just plain on the plate and had to eat it with a big steak knife.Afterwards a steak with sidedishes - salad and french fries, extra on the bill as well as the mayo, a bit of a surprise..

Vaca Negra

This is a nice steakhouse that offers quality meats with an Argentinian theme. A black bull welcomes you as you enter the restaurant. The menu offers a nice variety of meat and there was a fish offering as well. They also had a daily special that was handwritten on a separate menu on the table.Inspired by the evening and some red wine I went for the mixed grill offering - a small lamb chop, filet, ribs and ribeye all in one plate. As sides we had corn on the cob, fries and a couple of sauce options.I think everything tasted well - however the kitchen was struggling a bit with getting everything cooked on point. I suspect this due to the restaurant being fairly crowded and our party consisting of 10 people where several ordered the mixed grill. The ribs were a little bit dried out and some of the other meat had gone too long as well (I always order medium). I won't say this took away that much from a nice dining experience though, it was still tasty. The sauce bearnaise is worth a separate comment - this is one of the most popular sauces in Sweden (where I'm from) and the sauce bearnaise served here didn't really taste like an authentic bearnaise if you ask me. It was way too garlicy and didn't have the acidity and taste of tarragon that I associate with a nice bearnaise. If you're a fan of bearnaise, order something else ;)All in all a nice dining experience and I would really like to come back here but in a more intimate setting than with 9 colleagues!

Carlina's was taking reservations for Valentine's Day, although they are normally closed on a Tuesday (except for big parties). It was a great experience! We had a combination menu with many different tastes of South America. The housewine (who is soon to be ex-housewine, because it is just too good!) was excellent and a perfect fit with our diverse meal. The coffee afterwards was a slow perculating coffee with a great after dinner taste. And the service was impeccable, with explanation of the dishes, some stories of the differences in customs between The Netherlands and Caribbean/ South American and a general feeling of appreciation. We will visit again. And not only on Valentines Day :)
