Excellent food, well served on a terrace with wonderful view of sunset among the pine trees looking over the bay. Restaurant sits just off the promenade 15 minutes walk from the Kempinski. Not a bargain but good value.

Посетили с семьей данное кафе.могу сказать,что цены завышены,это можно конечно понять когда кухня и заведение на высоте и завышенная цена обоснована сервисом и качеством продукции.но если честно то обычное кафе с плохим меню

Opanas

Opanas was recommended to me as a must see while collecting my luggage at the airport. During a walking tour of the city it was recommended as one of the big three for traditional Ukrainian food. With such high recommendations I brought a friend and a healthy appetite. We arrived on a Monday evening without a reservation. There was a choice of seats inside and outside so we chose the terrace. My friend ordered the salmon and fruit veraneky and said everything was really good. I ordered a bit more food, starting with borscht, potato and mushroom stuffed veraneky and beef medallions. I was still ordering when the waitress kindly stated if I did it would be unlikely that I could finish it all. The amazing thing was that she was laughing with us, suggesting I should stop instead of just running up the tab, stopping several time to check that everything was ok and bringing wraps so we could stay warm as the temperature started to dip.First up, the borscht arrived served with pumpushka and sour cream. The soup was right on but the rib seemed as if it was tossed in at the last minute as an afterthought. The sour cream was preloaded in the soup instead of on the side as in other restaurants and the bread was really nice, light and fluffy. The potatoe and mushroom stuffed veraneky came next. They had a nice flavor and texture. I felt they were prepared with a bit more effort than at some places where they seem to be simply boiled and tossed into a bowl. I'm not sure what they did but these were nice on their own and even better dipped in the sour creame. Next up came the beef medallions. On this point I'm torn. The meat was tender and had an excellent tast. The issue I had was that it didn't have a grilled appearance i expected, instead maintaining the grey color as if it was steamed. The second issue was it seemed like it sat on the counter and rested a bit tool long.I really enjoyed the meal and would like to go back and try some of the additional offerings.
