Lower Austria (German: Niederösterreich, pronounced [ˈniːdɐˌʔøːstɐʀaɪ̯ç] ( listen); Czech: Dolní Rakousy; Slovak: Dolné Rakúsko) is the northeasternmost state of the nine states in Austria. The capital of Lower Austria since 1986 is Sankt Pölten, the most recently designated capital town in Austria. The capital of Lower Austria had formerly been Vienna, even though Vienna has not officially been part of Lower Austria since 1921. With a land area of 19,186 km (7,408 sq mi) and a population of 1.612 million people, it is the largest state in Austria, and in terms of population second only to the federal state of Vienna.

Walked in and the owner greeted us warmly and proceeded to start pouring us glasses of wine to taste. Wine was very good better than most California wines. We purchased 4 bottles including his sparkling Rose. When all was said and done the total for 6 glasses of wine and 4 bottles was 41.00 Euro. Would HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking for some excellent wines and tasting.

In case you are interested taking some wine from the area this is the right place to go. The wine selection is great, there is the posibility to try the wine and you can get recommendations. Besides wines, local products as Schnaps and apricots products are available.
