We were looking for a nice cafe to stop and have a rest after having visited the historical sites of Tarsus and found this excellent cafe and sweet shop near the Kilise Camii and close to Makas-I Danyal Mosque. They have an incredible variety of sweets and nuts, some pertaining to the region ( like cezerye, the carrot dessert) and all kinds of Turkish delight. It is impossible to go out of this shop without buying something and everything is delicious. There is a coffee shop upstairs with coffee from around the world ( Ethiopia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia) and also the special and extremely delicious Kaynar tea which is made up of herbs, cinnamon, ginger and walnuts, an excellent drink for cold days. We were very impressed with this special shop. Definitely recommended. In fact, don’t miss it.

Wjile visiting Tarsus Town,we have been driven to this locally famous small Humus house.Very local and centrally located eatery with limited food only.Frankly speaking,we had better Humus in this region,so we did not find something extra with this locally famous house.Quality and the taste was basic, nothing special. We still think that this establishment is very much overrated.
