We took around 2 hours with our many photo stops, and it is worth every second. The views are spectacular and the history amazing.
Approximately 1.9km in total (excluding side detours up towers) it can be walked in one continuous loop so you can start and finish at the same location. We started at the Ploce Gate and this was ideal as when you come off the wall the main port area and city street are just at the base.

I visited this Arboretum whilst touring Croatia.It had extensive Gardens and all the trees you looked at were labelled.
As you first walk through the pathways and trees,you come across an old villa which looked picturesque with lovely double row of stone pillars and plants and vines climbing up them.
The villa itself had just had one entrance hall and the public toilets.It also has pictures of Trsteno Arboretum going back many,many years.
Outside at one end of the garden is a two way vista,when you look through you can see the beautiful blue waters of the sea and it looks very effective and pretty.
The other side of the villa is Neptunes Fountain surrounded by ferns,grasses and various plants,very popular with visitors.
As you walk around you see sculptures,an old aqueduct and a small chapel that unfortunately you could not enter.
The main path by the villa was really pretty with its low walls and colourful plants.
A lovely place to visit for a few hours and enjoy a stroll.

Incredible experience with DBR. We were collected from old town, driven to the boat, and enjoyed a fantastic day out on the water. Absolutely amazing. Would not change one thing, great family - run business. Would recommend to all looking for a chance to enjoy Dubrovnik away from the crowds!

We had a very good time in "Sveta Ana".There are different and fun activities for all ages at low prices.The personnel are nice and helpful and the ambience dominated by cypress trees and dalmatian pines is very quiet and relaxing.Also you will have a chance to see what a typical Konavlian village lookes like.

Definietly recommend visiting and walking around the old town. Plenty of history and its like walking though the past. Plenty of restaurant options. Also for those of you that watch Game of Thrones, you can visit actual locations where it was filmed.

An unknown sand beach between Privlaka and Zaton with a very clear water. There isn´t any restaurant or any ice cream stall, and of course not much people stay there. It´s place for relax and listening of the sea. On the right side is low sea level, but on the left side is higher. I recomanded you stay on the right side, nearer to Zaton.
The sand is in the water too and create little sand waves on the seabed. It´s very agreable for feet. Off shore are littles zones with stones and gras, where you can observe sea life or do snorkeling. Don´t worry around stones zones are sand paths therefore you don´t need any swim shoes.

This ride up the mountain that towers over Dubrovnik is first class, with excellent equipment and modern facilities. Once up, the view up and down the coastline and down on Dubrovnik is breathtaking. The cafe at the top has good food and drink at reasonable prices.

We booked this at Zaton Travel (separate review on them) and were given information, all of which turned out incorrect or just lies.
Having done something similar in Turkey which turned out to be the highlight of our trip we very much looked forward to this. We arrived 30 minutes early in the hope of getting a few deckchairs (there were 7 in our party). The people working on the harbour in Dubrovnik were all rather rude and unhelpful and just said 'tickets' and pointed when we asked if they could show us which boat we needed. Stood in the queue for around 25 minutes only to discover that was not the queue for us and the huge mass of people to our right were also waiting for our boat. We were probably amongst the last 15 onboard and there were no seats on top and only a few spaces at each table on the lower deck. We sat 3 at one table and 4 at another. It amazed me that despite people seeing we were one family no one was willing to swop places. But that's just an observation and not the fault of the company. No safety instruction, no welcome, no nothing. Just off we went. Then we picked up as many people as got on the first time at a second stop. People squeezing in everywhere. I do not feel this was safe and very much doubt that there were enough life vests in the case of an accident. We had been told there was an open bar, but the bar shutter stayed firmly shut. There was a water cooler and plastic cups. These ran out, but we had saved ours so managed to get water as it was very hot. A man came round with plastic shot glasses with some local grappa. It was truly awful in taste, but fun and we all tried it. Then we were told that we would have 2 sittings for lunch. We were on the first and it ranged from ok to inedible. The 3 veg meals were very oily but edible grilled veg. Salad (i.e salted & vinegar lettuce & cucumber) - VERY SALTY and a few slices of tomatoes. My husband and daughter had the fish and said it was nice. The chicken was like something you'd use to repair the sole of a shoe. I saw them take away plate after plate of chicken. We were also offered wine. It was horrendous, but turns out it's the local wine which comes in plastic bottles.
We specifically asked when booking can we dive off the boat and were told yes (a factor in booking). Turns out NO BOATS at all in Croatia allow this. Agent selling the trip should (and probably does) know this but didn't tell us. We docked in a nice port and had to walk quite a bit to swim. However we then discovered a nicer beach was about a 10 minute walk up a hill and then a 2Euro golf buggy ride away. That was a lovely (but stoney - all the Beaches are stony so take water shoes). Back onboard we got one deck chair! Yay. Then we also discovered that there was a cooler box with some cold drinks and wine (again using the term loosely). So there is an open bar, but you just aren't told about it. Some people had beer and told us to buy it in the port. We did that at our next port...which is pointless. 30 minutes so no time to swim or do anything. It's just a place to stop and buy and ice cream and the beer. Back onboard we discovered that other passengers didn't understand the concept that different groups had bought beer and were just helping themselves to it. Perhaps if the company a) provided beer b) provided drinkable wine c) provided a different cooler box so people knew it was not the 'free' stuff or d) charged a bit cheaper and didn't say there was an open bar that would help.
The 3rd stop was quite nice again and we managed to find a spot to do some swimming. Then we headed home and the views are lovely indeed, marred only by the staff literally shoving a tips box in our faces and not leaving until people had put some money in. HOWEVER then we stopped at the main harbour and after a lot of pointing, talking and a bit of shouting we realised yes this was indeed where the cruise ended and a bus was waiting to take us back to Dubrovnik old town. So the whole experience of sailing into the old town and seeing that lovely sight was not an option. Again, no one told us this at the time of booking or at any time. I'd suggest you seriously do research and if at all possible spend a bit more to hire a private boat and then at least you'll know what you'll get. This company is not reliable, and/or honest. And the fact that they have only around 70 reviews, I'd say they keep deleting them and starting again. I'll keep a copy of this review and keep checking and just reposting it. I don't want others to waste their money as we did.

An excavation on the site of the 'Gornji ugao' tower, in the north-west corner of the walled city of Dubrovnik, in Croatia, uncovered evidence for a foundry established in the second half of the 15th century and largely producing armaments. It is a rare example of this type of industrial site, and its position within the city walls makes it unique. Excavation has provided information on the technical subdivision and spatial logic of the site. Activity at the foundry ceased after the Great Earthquake in 1667, which devastated the entire city, although part of the site continued in use as a foundry, on a smaller and more improvised scale.

This place was not well-signposted or particularly easy to find, but my goodness am I glad I did! It is very reasonably priced and our tour guide had excellent technical knowledge about the workings of a medieval foundry - despite English not being his native language. This is a must see for those who love archaeology.
