I took my parents as a surprise day out, even the nasty weather didn't spoil it! We arrived early but there was tea, coffee, squash and biscuits available and comfy sofas. We started at 11am with a tour of the place and information on every bird there- the staff are all so passionate and know so much about the birds. It's clear they are well cared for, and this is due to them not having to be open to the public and constantly showing birds off. We then did some handling with the birds and saw some flying. Then was lunchtime- rolls, cheese, salad and crisps- lovely spread. Then onto more flying and feeding the birds.
We had a fantastic day and would recommend to anyone looking for a day out, to learn lots and get some great pictures.

Nice house in Georgian town.. lovely surroundings with pleasant garden, good cafe and secondhand books. We had a tour guide who did talk way too long before we moved out of the first room-way too much detail but otherwise fine!

Dropped in the Wisbech and Fenland Museum today on our trip to Wisbech - saw the board outside and decided to have a look round. Free admission but a £2 donation is suggested. Plenty to see - a wide range of items in cabinets. So much information to take in too! We didn't spend a long time inside as we had other things to do but we could have easily spent a good hour or two there. The staff were welcoming and friendly. There were local books for sale in the shop and plenty of leaflets about places to see and things to do in the Fenlands. This Museum is well worth a visit!

This really is a fantastic little museum, with some fascinating exhibits.
The Museum started as a historic aviation society researching crash remains from the numerous aircraft that met their end in the eastern part of England. The artefacts that they have recovered, combined with the personal stories of the crews that flew each aircraft, are extremely well presented and thought provoking. In addition, they have a small collection of aircraft, including a Lightning, Jet Provost, Vampire and most of a Shackleton, plus a Jet Provost and B747 cockpit trainers.
The staff are all volunteers, and do a great job. On the few times we have visited, they have gone out of their way to show my aviation mad 8 year old every exhibit in detail, and allowed him to sit in aircraft and even assist with some jobs around the place! He just loves being there, and has even joined as a member.
Even if you aren't an aviation enthusiast, the stories that accompany each aircraft wreck are moving and thought provoking, and you can't help but appreciate the sacrifice these people made.
Take a couple of hours out of your time and visit this place. You won't regret it!

Visited Wisbech and walked over the bridge towards the shopping area. The Clarkson Memorial is at the end of the bridge on its own little island amid the traffic and very grand. Definitely worth taking time to have a look at as often it is easy just to walk by and not really spend the time to look at its history.

Angles Theatre

The Angles Theatre in Alexandra Road, is a lively and vibrant Arts Centre housed in a Georgian building with a theatrical tradition stretching back over 200 years. Built in 1793, it remained in use as a theatre for just over 50 years, since when it has had a chequered career as a school, a tent maker's and the Town Library. Live theatre was reintroduced about 20 years ago and its intimate 112 seat auditorium brings to Wisbech, some of the best professional talent in the country, from musicians and poets to dance, mime, comedy and Theatre Companies.

Reviewed By Nick T - Wisbech, United Kingdom

I have been to many shows at the Angles and enjoyed them all. The theatre is small and compact but all seats are close to the stage and have great views. Every show i have seen has been fantastic, the local players and youngsters put everything into each show and realy enjoy it. I have been to bigger theatres and seen shows with named actors that have not been as good as the shows i have seen here. It really is a local community theatre at its best. I would recommend going to see a show.
