Montreal, c’est si bon! This French-speaking city is considered the cultural capital of Canada, and is a cosmopolitan celebration of Québécois style. A horse-drawn carriage ride around the cobblestone streets and grand buildings of Vieux-Montréal will give you a taste of European flavor. The Basilique Notre-Dame is a confection of stained glass, and the Plateau Mont-Royal district will delight you with its quaint boutiques and cafés. Spade & Palacio Non-Touristy Tours

Spade & Palacio is a collaboration of two born and raised, young Montrealers who are passionate about our city and love to show it. We originally met during our guiding classes and bonded over a shared interest and intention of having our visitors walk away with a day in the life of a local experience. Three years later we decided to take matters into our own hands and the company was born. It’s simple; we take our guests away from the mains, our tours are non-touristy. We want to showcase unknown parts while promoting local, young and women entrepreneurs on our walking food tours and your local guide’s favorite parts of town on our bike tours. Unlike other companies, we guarantee intimate groups of 10 or less. We hire only local and licensed fun guides. You aren’t sheep we herd around town, you’re our guests and we keep it human scale, authentic and real.

Tohu

TOHU continues to make Montréal an international leader in circus arts. It plays a major role in the incredible growth of Quebec circus, which it places at the top of the bill, thanks to its dedicated venue and festival.

The whole family loved our visit to Tohu for the Flip Fabrique performance of Blizzard. The show was beautiful—athletic, graceful, fun. Friendly, diverse crowd, lots of families. We paid a bit extra for good seats, and it was well worth the investment. Tohu facility is nice. Parking lot directly across from entrance, $8 cash fee. Bathrooms are big and well kept. Only downsides: it’s a bit of a trek from centre ville, and there’s nowhere to dine nearby.

St-Michel Flea Market

Reviewed By DSullivandotcom

(First of all the address is 7707 Avenue Shelley...) This is a great two floor mall jam packed with all manner of antiques, collectibles-- and a lot more such as mid century furniture and fancy stuff like higher end lamps. (and a lot of friendly vendors) The quality and price---typical of this type of venue--- are all over the map from high to not so high. (some of those friendly vendors might just haggle too) Something for everyone and every pocketbook. If this is your thing you're likely to love it so plan to spend a lot of time because there is a whole lot to see and sort through. There's a washroom. No food but a convenience store within meters across the street. It's easy to get to and hard to leave. You might find yourself coming back next day. Have fun!
