Ash End House Children's Farm

We are a small, family owned childrens farm, which has been operating for over 30 years. We have lots of friendly farm animals, mostly undercover so weather does not cause any problems, we also have The Big Play Barn on site, which is a newly built indoor soft play centre. The Big Play Barn has its owe review page on trip advisor and you can look at their web page and facebook for more info. The farm is Ideal for all visitors who love animals and wish to have close contact with them. Plenty of handwashing facilities, ample free parking and activities throughout the day. The main daily activities include holding a baby chicken and bunny, go on a egg hunt to find a freshly laid egg from the Hen House, sit on the pony or shire horse! We also run the tractor and trailer ride everyday and children get a bucket of feed for the animal (except horses). There are extra activities that we put on thoughout the year and we also put on special events days so look out on facebook page and on our webpage for more info. On our farm we have falconary centre which puts on displays everyday (weather dependant) and we breed our Shire Horses in our Shire Horse Centre. All the activities are included in the farm admission price

Myself and my good lady booked a ski level 1 & 2 ahead of our ski holiday to Chamonix, the tuition we had was brilliant, David was confident, reassuring, and very patient, he taught us the basics of slow speed control. Ski level 2 was with Peter, again, brilliant, he taught us how to to start making turns, he explained what we needed to do in very simple terms, reassured me when I cocked it up, told me what I did wrong and how to correct it. Genuinely couldn’t wish for better instructors, big thanks to both of you. Thanks.

Westport lake is a lovely place to go for a stroll when you need a break from work and stress! Good paths for walking, running and cycling. Wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Small pool and larger lake, plenty of wildlife to see. There’s also a wooded section with breeding pool, this is harder to access for some. Great cafe on site with a balcony overlooking the water. If you’re lucky you can catch the oatcake boat on the canal!

Dimmingsdale is truly perfect for walkers and ramblers looking to enjoy the Churnet Valley, Staffordshire Moorlands & Staffordshire Peak District. Dimmingsdale is truly one of Staffordshire’s hidden gems. This enchanting and beautiful valley is a haven for walkers, nature lovers and those seeking tranquillity and spectacular scenery. Lakes, streams and rivers combine with a mixture of broadleaf trees and spectacular Scots Pines and huge sandstone rocky outcrops to create spectacular scenery and an amazing haven for wildlife, which is beautiful at anytime of the year. Dimmingsdale was once part of the Earl of Shrewsbury's Alton Towers Estate, now the public can explore this country paradise through one of the established woodland trails.

This delightful valley in the Churnet Valley & Staffordshire Moorlands beats any site in the Peak District National Park. Free parking is available at the valley's tea room- the Ramblers Retreat, which serves the most delicious homemade cakes, lunches and coffee. The main route- Earl's Drive can be busy, but the maps at the cafe show so many more routes, we've got more we want to go back and do. Lots of family friendly walks and more adventurous ones. The Forestry Commission volunteers are also very friendly and helpful!

Alton Towers Theme Park

Escape to the fantabulous world of the Alton Towers Resort - there's so much going on, the fun never stops! England's largest theme park offers 500 acres of attractions and rides the whole family can enjoy including X-Sector, Forbidden Valley, Dark Forest, Gloomy Wood, Katanga Canyon and CBeebies Land!

Reviewed By sunshinebeee - Bath, United Kingdom

I'd read the most recent reviews before our visit and told my boyfriend not to get his hopes up for too many rides. With the park being open 10-4 and a 3 hour drive up from Bath, I said we'd probably only get on 4 or 5 rides. Well! I was completely wrong. Even with social distancing in the queues and most of the rides being half full for more social distancing, we managed 12 rides on both days we were there (Thurs 22nd and Fri 23rd) and didn't practically every ride in the park, even though we entered the park at 10.40am both days. I've put our wait times for both days below. The staff were all lovely and were enforcing the distancing in the queues. There was no cleaning of the rides between guests, but realistically there was no time. The onus was on you to sanatise your hands before and after. There was a ten minute malfunction on Galactica and Thirteen was shut for half of the first day, but otherwise everything seemed to be running okay.
