Sabie is a forestry town situated on the banks of the Sabie River in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The name Sabie is derived from the Tsonga word "Ulusaba" which means fearful, it is derived from the name of the river. The Tsonga called this river Ulusaba ("fearful river") because the river was once teeming with dangerous Nile crocodile. The word Ulusaba was modernized by the Afrikaner colonialists who changed it from Ulusaba (Tsonga) into the Afrikaans "Sabie" .

This reserve has all of the benefits of being adjacent to Krueger National Park with the great bonus of being able to go off-road for the big five. The variety of wildlife, including a small lion pride, and the lack of crowds made it the perfect place to safari. We stayed at Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp. Great food, beautiful accommodations and very informative guides.

The waterfall will take your breath away with its natural beauty and is something truly exceptional to behold. It is easily accessible, about 200m walk from the parking. Can get a bit crowded though. There is also picnic facilities near the falls to make the visit even more worthwhile for the price paid.

i don't know why your reviewer Jenny had trouble finding this : we had a map with the permit. Just go down to the end if the picnic site & follow the signs. Initially by the river, then a forest, then the falls. You come back through another forest. Beautiful place, the only Falls that are wider than they are higher in that part of the world. guide says 4km, but it took us about an hour there and an hour back....plus watching time! Jo from the Graskop leather shop showed us the climbing route up the falls, rather than the road way : you then walk along the river bed at the top before joining the road again. take care though!

Worth every cent for young and old! Well maintained which is very important. Nothing ostentatious. You get onto the platform...and go at full speed down hill! Just a pity that it all happens so fast. Staff are very good!

A very low R15 at the gate then you head to the car park. There’s a market next to the car park which has art, memorabilia and plants that one can purchase. Then you walk down a short distance to the waterfall. Quite a refreshing sight.

A cool walk through the beautiful trees and stunning surrounds to the waterfall is amazing. The waterfall is beautiful. So calming, we truly have a beautiful country. Entrance fee is reasonable and there is safe parking. Bit of a drive though as the road is gravel and a bit bumpy. The tar road had many potholes. But definitely worth the drive. Ice cream available at the shop that has neat and clean seating.

Went here on the last day in Graskop. The picnic area was clean and neat, toilets were also clean even though there were alot of people. Pools were great, we had one all to our selves. So much cheaper than the other Tourism sites.
