Splendid large park with mature trees. Well tended pathways and marked trails up to 17 km. Lovely moss and fern covered Waterfalls. A Lebanese cedar several hundred years old—do smell the cut end that sticks out. Castle ruins to explore. A lovely green place worth visiting the appealing town of Laconi for.

The 5E per person admission includes the 3 sites here (sacred well, nuraghe village, christian church + village) as well as the Etnografico museum in Pauillatino. The sacred well is very unexpected and found inside keyhole shaped walls inside almond shaped walls. The well is made of almost perfect cut stone while the walls are made of rough stone - quite the contrast. The nuraghe village is nice in a pretty shady setting highlighted by one tower structure and two interesting barn structures. We just walked past the Christian church and village - pretty but the church wasn't open and is relatively new construction anyway.
The Etnografico museum in Pauillatino is housed in an interesting 'palace' type building but unfortunately was closed from 1-3pm when we got there in early November.

For your visite, only saturday, sunday and tuesday, you must make a reservation for advance. We are a family: free guided tours all year round, by appointment only. The visit lasts 30 minutes. In a remote place of the world, called Su Pallosu (Oristano), in the west coast of Sardinia (Italy) live a huge colony of cats. The colony is formed by 57 cats (35 completely free) and is rapidly become an amazing attraction for tourists from everywhere because of the interest of this rare event, which has led the national media attention there. The feline sanctuary of Su Pallosu in Sardinia hosts a total of 57 cats, all endowed with microchip. All female and all male cats are neutered. The colony is about a hundred years old, is managed by two cats-lovers Andrea e Irina and Associazione Culturale Amici di Su Pallosu; never received any public funding: all feeding and medical expenses are funded by volunteers. Therefore people living in the near village are voluntarily organized to support and protect the felines. All the secrets of this magic site will be uncovered in the course of 7 stages of the visit, by Andrea and Irina, who live 24/7 in the site. 1) Area Cat Feeding; 2) Cat Shelter; 3)Feline Garden; 4)Gianni Atzori Mineral Collection; 5)Turtle Area; 6)History, Wildlife, and Art exposition at the Casa Museo Gianni Atzori. 7)Nuragic Cat Beach. The association does NOT accept any new cats, and reports to the authorities whoever abandons animals on the premises (Law 727 of code of penal procedure). We are voluntaries who never received any public financing or monies. All our activities are fully self-financed and self-managed.Activities carried out so far for the protection of the 57 extraordinary cats of Su Pallosu, since 2010: Microchip insertion, Feeding Specialized health treatment (Clinica Veterinaria Duemari di Oristano) Thousands of veterinarian visits, daily treatments, surgeries, on over 120 adult cats neutered as of 2015, were possible thanks to the contributions of private citizens like yourself.

Loved this quaint beach. A very small area and needed to rent a car for the visit from Alghero but well worth it for the cat lover. A reservation for a tour was required. 5E per person admission. You'll find a pleasing almond shaped nuraghi tower in a lovely setting with wildflowers. Other walls and towers, too. Interesting small museum on site. Great photos here, and fun to climb the inner staircase and walk through the inner tunnels. Allow 1 hour.

This area is a bit of the beaten track and offers quite an eclectic mix of archaeology at Tharros, walking trails, Beaches and some small cafes. Not an area I would choose to devote a lot of time to, but a good day trip from other more touristy areas. The church was the highlight for me.

thw beach is a dream. two kinds of sand we found there. heavy golden sand fine powdered and riccornquartz, white and lighter than the golden one...the waves play with the different materials seperatet and they don´t get mixed up. a highlight during our stay on the penisola di sinis.

This Paleochristian era church is so old! It feels like the stones carry centuries of spiritual energy with its simple interior, cool and damp atmosphere. A quick stop and free.

we came to spiaggia san giovanni di sinis in the morning time around 10 a.m. and we were lucky to find a parking place, because the historic city tharros is in the surrounding directly. a one day ticket for parking costs 6 euro.
the spiaggia of san giovanni di sinis consists of two beach sections. one beach section is located southly from the historical tower, the second one is located northly of the tower. we choosed the beach section northly the tower.
the beach itself is fine sandy big rocks interupt the beach and the surface of the water, which presents every shade of green and blue. the water gets deep quickly and so the beach is not recommented for families with small children. how high are the waves depends on the strongness of the wind. we had a lot of fun during swimming and splashing. at the southend of the beach it is possible to snorkel also, cliffs and big rocks are located there, but the waves were too high and so we didn´t went out for snorkeling. shadowzones are rare and an umbrella and sun protection is absolutely necessary. further a cooling bag with drinks and food should be by side.
directly in the back of the beach a middlehigh steepcoast was formed by the nature, the vegetation consists of low maccia and sand lillies. behind the steepcoast there is the Promenade which leads the visitors to the entrance of tharros.
the southsection of san giovanni di sinis is only reachable per feet, because the visitor has to pass thrugh the archeological area of tharros. the south section has the same characteristics like the north section. fine sandy beach interupt with rocks and big stones. maybe a little bit higher waves, because we saw surfers riding the waves.
in the backland of the northsection there are located beachbars, about the prices we cannot give any information. a public toilette we found also.
we can recomment san giovanni di sinis very much. we had a perfect day there and enjoyed our time very much. the beach was without question a highlight during our stay in the province of Oristano. a place every visitor shouldn´t miss.

Yes, it is something special; a beach full of quartz "grain". But the nice rosa colouring we did not observe. Without this you get a relatively small beach that steeply declines in the sea, so not very accessible for young kids. There is one beach bar, but this is probably one of the dirtiest I have seen in my life.

Arrived at 11.45 am, ticket was €4 each, they close at 12.30 am, were warned, mind you 45 min is enough as it is a very small area, the ruins are of 4000 year old roman thermal baths and the spring is still there, it was a good feeling to be there and visualise what it really looked like.
The annoying issue was that they were cleaning the area with a very noisy powerful jet wash which was a shame as it ruined the atmosphere. We were the only visitors and as soon as we left they shut everything including the jet wash machine!
