Entre chien et loup

Reviewed By BackfromQuebec - Chicago, USA

We went for the 4-5 days expedition, guided by Goulwen.
Landscapes were wonderfully beautiful and impressive, proximity to the nature was a must and the dogs were so kind and well raised. We could tell the dogs were very well taken care and loved.
Weather was cold but with all the extra clothing provided by Plein Air de l'Anse, we were never cold. And not to forget, food was excellent at every single meal!!!! Crepes, chocolate cake, beef bourguignon. A deleece!!
Very professional guide. We definitely recommend this place.

Learn and practice the basics of sailing or just sit back, relax and take in the beautiful scenery and the wildlife (Beluga whales, seals and a variety of birds). Get to know our instructor/interpreters, who will make sure you live an unforgettable experience. Interpretation, a quick dip, learning to sail are all on the menu. Put the wind in your sails and discover this incredible waterway in silence, just the way it was meant to be!

We spent the whole afternoon sailing on the "Péché Mignon", under the orders and very great guidance of our Captain Catherine Parker. She tought us the basics in order to be able to steer the boat up and down stream on the Saguenay. We were in family with our 2 children and both were having largly open and bright eyes. We really did appreciate the afternoon with Catherine there.
Each of us even received its own certificate of competency for basics sailing practice that my son used for presenting his own discovery of the "American Continent" at school once back in Belgium.
Do it jointly with the "Fjord en Kayak" and that will complete your experience, as we did it on the same day in the morning.

Mont Edouard

Really awesome little mountain with great snow. Brilliant development of the backcountry area with cute little refuges - you can rent and spent the night or just pop in to take your lunch. Inexpensive. A bit far away from great centres - but that has the advantage that there are very few people on the hill!! Consider taking a helicopter flight from Baie St Paul to make your trip more efficient. Also consider going with a guide such as Whisjack - based at Le Massif. This is a truly understated mountain and place, very well kept secret and again: awesome snow!!!!

The Horizon Evasion buggy tour is a must for anyone visiting the L'Anse Saint-Jean region. The bug racers are easier to drive than ATV's and with a few short directions you will be on your way. Nick and Fred will taylor your ride to meet the level of experience you have off-roading. The scenery is spectular and the information added by the guides is excellent. We went twice during our stay and enjoyed both times.

Centre Equestre des Plateaux

Reviewed By Aaidan

This is an excellent activity, a must do for the area. It's a ride on beautiful horses of all type through the woods, up and down hills, through a few rivers, in the Fjord, and through a village. The guide (owner/operator) Jean is extremely knowledgable about horses and the area. He is passionate about the way he makes a living. I am a novice rider (3-4 tips trail riding), my wife is an adept, and it was my sisters first ride. We all ended the ride very happy with our experience and more knowledgable than we had started about both horses and the area. It would be an excellent family trip, solo, group of friends, business. It really is a must do for the area!

Pont du Faubourg is the covered bridge in the village of L'Anse-Saint Jean. Built in 1929 this bridge is best known as being depicted on the back of the $1000 bill of 1954.
The bridge is still in use. It is constructed from timbers with sheets of siding. Inside the bridge there are approximately 20 pieces of art work depicting local life. It is definitely worth making the side trip to see
