Noble black rhinos are the highlight of this amazing park, Kenya’s first national park and a local treasure.
As you travel through Nairobi National Park's 45 square miles, you'll find it hard to believe that you are in a modern city. The city's skyline in the distance, is the only reminder. The park is teeming with wildlife, all protected by aircraft overhead and discreet armed guards. You can expect to see lions, rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes and many others animals and birds, roaming in the grassy plains under the occasional acacia tree. If you don't have time for a full scale safari, when you visit Kenya you'll be glad you visited Nairobi National Park.

It is a place that seeks to secure our environment. Our main work is to carry out environment conserving initiatives. The care for giraffes that are endangered is one of the conservation activities that we do.
Giraffe center is the best sanctuary for the rare Rothschild giraffe. Giraffe Center is a breeding, research, and conservation center where you can learn about Rothschild giraffes and get the opportunity to feed giraffes.

The adventure starts from the “wobbly” boardwalk as you balance yourself as you walk till the end, this was such a thrill Board your canoe here and the calm ocean gently rocks you to the creek, if the tide & water level is low you can get off at garden of eden to catch the sunset as the water turns to a shimmery gold, such a sight to behold! If you’re adventurous you can kayak, stand up paddle boarding or float around the mangroves in the creek experiencing it all and hopefully see some birds hunting in the shallow waters. We used a local guide who was very informative & affordable.

The coastal village of Watamu is known for its wonderful white sand beach. The region is protected as part of the Watamu National Marine Park.
Watamu Beach especially near Fortamu is a paradise. Beautiful white sand beach where you can walk freely and enjoy the spectacular view. During high tides you can enjoy the water that is giving the sensation of a warm bathtub. I spent a wonderful week! Definitively a place to visit in Kenya.

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) Elephant Nursery in Nairobi National Park provides a safe haven to orphaned baby elephants rescued by the DSWT. The Nursery provides the first stage in the hand-rearing and development of milk dependent baby elephants. Once they graduate from the Nursery, aged 2-3 years, the elephants move to one of the DSWT's Reintegration Centres in Tsavo East National Park, from where they will ultimately return to the wild.
What a wonderful elephant orphanage, also home to an 11 year old blind rhino!!Hearing the narrator talk about each elephant's history and seeing them romp and play was a memorable experience. What a joy!!!!!!

Fort Jesus is Mombasa’s most popular tourist attraction. The fort, located along the coastline near the Old Town, is a monumental piece of architecture that was built in the 16th century by the Portuguese. The fort has a museum that displays various artifacts from the era where Mombasa served as a transit point for the slave trade and commodities, and which enjoyed regular visits by seafarers and the like
It's a natural museum of Mombasa.. great history keeping.. great Indian Ocean view.. affordable.. tour guide available.

I have seen Haller Park, formerly known as the Bamburi Nature Trail, grow from its humble starts in the 70's to what it is today, a text book example of a wasteland transformation which turned it into a nature reserve and home for many species of animals and birds. A must visit location when in Mombasa.
